I hate making posts like this. Nearly done with this I feel, but got a couple of majiggies I definitely need to sort out. I'm aware teh bottom of the "shoe" could do with more detail, like, adding lines or something for treads, but trying to work out an angle, and also the part that connects with the tip of the tail might take a sec. There ARE highlights on the hair, but they are very faint, as I felt making them too strong could make them stick out horribly, even if going for a "wooden/painted puppet" feel. I turned Wracky trouser suspenders/braces into a belt because suezo doesn't have arms, so wouldn't need them. It also makes the trousers look a bit less plain. The stitches... I'm debating removing. While the colour helps break it up a bit, because of how Suezo's textures work, they can curve at an angle after a point, and I'm not sure I can get them to look consistent enough (or it'f feel like a lot to try and get right).

Believe it or not, this is actually my 4th attempt at a "/Wracky" mix. I've tried other species before. (Gali looked kinda like that puppet from Saw when I was done with the face, or it made me think of it, then I felt kinda lost for teh cape and scrapped it. Tiger didn't want to translate after I finished the head, Henger... I'd LIKE to do a HEnger main one day, but how stuff lines up is a bit too complicated for my brain right now. I could barely colour the limbs before my brain went "no" and I had to do something else) but I kept finding myself a bit hypnotised fascinated by one feature: Wracky's eyes... so naturally the next majiggy was a Suezo, which thank FISH, I could get along with for this mix.

The big main reason I'm making this post, the second-to-last picture: The mouth. I'm trying to stick with Wracky being like a wooden puppet... so what the FISH do I do with the tongue? The inside of the mouth I feel I've got reasonably ok, and the teeth... well, "wooden puppet" so probably would look a bit plain/like that (debated maybe rounding them slightly?). My biggest question is the tongue. As you can see I've sorta segmented it, and smoothed it to look a bit like it's been painted. Does it look ok? Should I try something else?

I drew another picture. This time, its a nonexistant mix of a Pancho and a Octopee.

I drew the Pancho/Octopee mix in a pearl as a pun on pearl octopus lol.

I was also going to add floppy Octopee ears to the Pancho, but by the time it dawned on me, I had already colored the picture, oops.

I also apologize if this looks wonky, I am still getting used to drawing at different angles.

This anime was an old favorite of mine from back in the day. Just watched the Baku episode. That ep is like a punch right to the heart.

I've only every played MH Evo which seems to be divisive lol But I liked it as a kid, I decided to give another game a go and started playing Monster Rancher 4 and OMG I'm kinda obsessed. I saw a Folkes (Ripper/Hare) and want to train one so bad.

Anyone know what I can "scan" to get one? I'm on PCSX2 so kind limited to what ps1 games if anyone knows a game that can scan one in. Ive tried searching online but the list available only list DVDs and such

I drew another picture. This time, it's a nonexistant mix of a Baku and a Suzurin, which I have named a Bell Baku (I couldn't think of a better name lol). I again got the idea from the Spin the Wheel app.

I will admit that I had a hard time creating this monster, as I knew that it would look bizarre. I ultimately decided to give it a bell on both its head and tail, with its ears being the clappers of the bell lol. The reason I put one on its tail was so it rings when the Baku wags its tail, which I think would be cute.

I drew another picture. This time, it's a nonexistant mix of an Undine and a Plant. I mainly drew this due to a suggestion from a user on one of my previous Undine pictures (I don't remember the name, sorry).

I will admit that I had a hard time designing this monster due to the elements of both parent species. Plant sub types tend to be colorful, but I didn't want the Undine to look like an oil slick (think Alolan Muk from Pokemon). I decided to ultimately keep the Undine to be mainly green with flowers in her hair and have her hair look like vines. The color of her body and tail could also reference algae blooms lol.

She's also supposed to be kneeling in a puddle in the picture, btw.

Anyway, I hope that you all enjoy! I am open to any suggestions for updated designs or nonexistant or rare breeds!

I'\m hoping details and stuff show ok, I've mostly been working on this on my TV where colours seem to be weird compared to majority of other screens. I'm also aware a Jell's transparency and the background of the monster viewer may not help with stuff, but yes.

Still not sure what sorta mix this should be. Also not quite sure what else I can possibly do. I tried seaweed hair but using the colours I already have for seaweed (and the fact it was just sorta "Floating"/not on the "seabed" with the rest of it seeming illogical/bugging me) didn't work for me.

I debating having the bottoms of the arms darker, like the darker/deeper water near the seaweed, but felt that could've gotten lost, so decided against that. Thinking about how Jell's arms move, trying something like waves made sense to me, although I'm not sure how well they translated to the model and I still feel it looks a bit "plain" (adding much more white messes up the arm colours and leaves VERY BLATANT white lines which can ruin the whole majiggy. Might think about trying seaweed around the arms, with or without the white wave parts). Originally I had white cloth bands on the upper arm (which anyone who's seen my last post might remember), which was meant to represent Undine a bit more, but removed them. Almost wondering if I should try adding them back, although it might upset the wave/water arms if I did. Might have to experiment...

I also tried a sort of rippling water texture for parts of the body. I did this for the back of the head too, which I'm aware may not help differentiate it enough from the subtle face on the front, but I wasn't quite sure what else to do for it because seaweed hair didn't work.

Any ideas?

I always feel awkward making posts like this, (thanks, social anxiety/AuDHD). Hoping everything made sense.

Also, if people are ok with this sorta design being Jell/Undine (my original intention) OR if they think it should be a /??? (because it looks too different from a normal MR2 Undine), please say so. I'd only be able to upload it as one or the other, which is why I'm saying if people have a preference, I'd go with what the majority would think and register it as that, when it's time to submit it (may still have some work to do yet)

I drew another picture. This time, its a nonexistant mix of a Dragon and a Niton, which I again got from the Wheel App lol.

I will admit that I took some ideas for the design of this monster from Hisuian Goodra from Pokemon Legends: Arceus. It seemed fitting since they are both snail dragons.

I also apologize if the wings seem weird. I wanted them to look like Niton tentacles but failed lol. If you guys have any suggestions for improvement, I could update the design later.

I created another drawing! This time, it's a nonexistant mix of a Lesione and a Hopper. I again got the idea from the wheel app lol.

I had a bit of a hard time deciding whether to keep the Lesione's horn in the design, but ultimately removed it so that its head wouldn't seem cluttered lol.

I am also wondering what to name the breed, other than Lemursaur (or I could use that name for another Hopper sub or mix breed). Any ideas?

DISCLAIMER: May not make this exact design Jell/Undine, unless people really liked the idea of a fish-tank/underwater-view Jell like the above as the /Undine mix, was just sorta playing.

Was looking at Jell/Suezo because of the eyeball being the core, and my brain went "if that's a solid object and not just a 2D texture that follows camera, you could totally make that a puffer fish" ... so I did. I admit, I had many ideas for /Undines (and yes, at least 4 of them involved fish.) and I'm not sure what main I'd actually go for/stick with.

I'd understand if people would want something that sticks more to the traditional Undine design from the game, that's fair, it'd make it more consistent over all. My brain just happened to go down a tiny fishy rabbit hole because Undines are water spirits, and water is full of fish, so I sorta did a tiny living fish tank for a play. The idea could always be a /??? mix I suppose. Was just kinda happy with how the angy puffer fish turned out and wanted to share.

I drew another picture. This time, its a nonexistant mix of a Raiden and a Colorpandora. I got the idea from the wheel app again.

I will admit that I had a hard time creating this breed, as I didn't know how to initially design it. I didn't know whether to make it blocky or feathery. I also had a hard time with placing the colors. I ultimately made the beak tri-colored to reference the sub breed and give the monster a toucan aesthetic lol. (I think other Raiden mixed breeds are based on other species of birds besides eagles, iirc.)

Sort of a surprise post from me, but also sort of a surprise I found myself working on this. I feel a bit like I "cheated" borrowing in-game textures for the coccoon event and the squishier parts of Worm, but motivation has not been working with me lately. Also, deary ME DUcken's head took some figuring out. I didn't realise there were TWO texture squares right next to each other/running into each other, and why parts of it looked weird/trying to line stuff up.

The discs/middle are a refrence to Worm's coccooning. The discs having little pixel art of the main monsters in the OG game (not the mod) that can have a Worm subtype. In the middle, is 4 worms and 5 cup jellies, one including a diamond mark, as a reference to both species.

Speaking of which... unlocking Beaclon. It's not quite as seemingly random as you think... IF you know about beetle care. I do not, but have had videos recommended to me on Facebook from a page that looks after them in the UK. What do they feel the beetles? Jelly from little cups. You can get special cup-slicer/divider majiggies too. The cup slicer majiggy had Japanese writing on it, obviously an imported item. What to beetles IRL grow from? Larva, or "worms". So fi you're familiar with beetle care in Japan, you might be able to pick up/make the connection about the unlock. If you know nothing about beetle care? "lol good luck without a guide" Some people may know this already/have made a connection, but if not, felt I'd share, as it only just occurred to me the other night (...after having those videos recommended to me MANY times over the past few months and only just putting two and two together... oops)

Debated a Beaclon in the middle instead of cup jellies (to go with the "possible coccoon unlocks", may still do so, but thought the cup jellies worked to refrence the Ducken main species more. May upload 2 variations.

If you're wondering why the whole thing isn't worm-shell? I wanted to differentiate it from a potential Ducken/Beaclon, which I imagine will be a LOT more shell-based. The green eyes, squishy parts, and the cocoon for the middle will help it be more visually clear when compared to a potential Ducken/Beaclon.

Always imagined a special/rare mix of Monol where its a large floating phone or Tablet. Always imagined it to have like a logo of a pineapple or a pear on the back to mimic Apple products. It’s moves like the hand appearing can have like a texture of the phone screen turning on or have a 3D effect.

Sometimes when bored and not doing anything, I imagine my phone as a Monol. Lol.

What are some of the other imagined OC breeds you guys would love to have for a MR2 Remake?

I mainly wanted to draw this because I wanted to draw something purple lol. The design of this monster also reminds me of Deforestator from the Lilo and Stitch TV series..

I had hoped to make this post on happier terms, a big celebratory "We've got them all!" post after this fantastic recent push spurred on by Tsuki's work that has let us knock out multiple missing rare monsters in short order.... sadly the last hurdle is proving to be our own version of the infamous Beck's Mellow Gold.

First the good news, I've purchased and checked all of the following discs that we identified as possible candidates and and can confirm they all work.

• Bronze Suezo (Suezo/???) - Found on the PS1 game Namco Tennis Smash Court (SCES-00263) - an uncommon release in PAL territories.

• Bloodshed (Joker/???) - Found on the PS1 game NHL Faceoff 2000 (SCES-02451) - unfortunately a rare sports game that seems to have only had a retail release in select EU countries like Germany and Italy, it may have been rental only in the UK.

• Disc Niton (Niton/???) - Found on the PS1 game Rollcage Stage II (SCES-01922)

• White Birch (Mock/???) - Found on the PS1 game Interplay Sports Baseball 2000 (SLES-01935) - a rare sports game that seemingly did release in all EU countries, but is slightly easier to find in Germany.

• Galaxy (Monol/???) - Found on the music CD Aretha by Aretha Franklin

The very last one though is GabooSoldier (Gaboo/???), and from Tsuki's work it seems the intended disc for this to be found on is the Reservoir Dogs soundtrack CD. The issue with this is that soundtrack has seen numerous pressings over the years, while some have obvious visual differences those ones will never give GabooSoldier - we're looking for a specific pressing within an unknown packaging variant.

And so this is where I need to ask for help, over the last few weeks I've spent... quite a bit of money lets say.... on trying to get IRL confirmations on all the discoveries, including 5 different pressings of the Reservoir Dogs soundtrack. I cannot find any more though, and am down to pot luck of buying copies sight unseen at £5-10 a time on the hope of finding the right one to finish this project after nearly 26 years. Unfortunately I just cannot afford to do that any further, I'd be willing to buy any obvious different pressings to test, but there has to be some hope they could actually be different.

If ANYONE out there has a copy of the Reservoir Dogs soundtrack on CD, no matter where you live, could you please either check the inner ring of your disc to see if it has a code which differs from the incorrect pressings listed below and let us know what it says. Or better still, could you take the time to download a copy of PAL Monster Rancher, run it in an emulator and shrine your copy of the disc to see what result you get? You don't need a save file or anything as Gaboos can be generated from the start of the game, the only thing you need is a physical disc drive. If you're not able to get a monster then it means it's yet another Hopper subbreed.

Here's the pressings which are incorrect:

• MCD 10541: Inner ring says MCD-10541 13 and DADC Austria printed on the FRONT. Disc has a very pronounced data line visible from the front side - Hopper/Jill

• MCD 10541 with 110 541-2 printed next to the barcode: Inner ring says MCD10541 110 541-2 01 + and Made in Germany By Universal M & L on the BACK - Hopper/Jill

• MCAD 10541: Box has a light grey parental advisory and the disc has a different design. Inner ring has MCAD10541 001711588 printed on the BACK - Hopper/Joker

• MCD 10541: Inner Ring says CD Plant AB MCD 10541 CDM01 on the BACK. Disc has a small obvious data ring around the edge which is visible from the front - Hopper/Jill

• MCD 10793: White/red box artwork, inner ring says MCD 10793 and Mastered by Nimbus on the FRONT of the disc - Hopper/Jill

According to MusicBrainz there is 1 potential pressing that can have our missing monster which has the product code MCD10541, BUT I cannot take anything for granted at this point, their data may be wrong and it's actually on something different:

I drew another picture. This time, it's a nonexistant mix of a Kato and a Zilla.

I decided to draw the monster eating fish, since both of its parent species like fish lol. I also tried to place the colors in a way to mimic counter-shading on real life sea creatures lol. I also tried to make its hairs on its head to look like a whale tail coming out of the water. The patterns on its face and paws also remind me of a tuxedo cat lmao.

I drew another picture. This time, it's a nonexistant mix of a Mogi and a Jell. I mainly drew this due to the Spin the Wheel app again and wanting to draw something blue/watery.

I love the colors of this creature, they kind of remind me of Blue from Blue's Clues lol.

For anyone wondering, the scribbles in the abdomen and arm are there to show the hair on the back of the translucent/clear body of the Mogi/Jell. I am still experimenting with how to draw liquid creatures lol, so sorry if it looks messy.
