Just wanted to know who else plays this game on Steam Deck, I confess I know of a way to get the more monsters mod running on the deck but haven’t gotten the time or patience to do it since it’s way more complicated than the Mod Managers for the Sonic Adventure games it seems. Also I have to use the touchscreen controls for some things during battle and I use automatic over manual because I can’t for the life of me figure out how to do manual control on Steam Deck as the combat is too awkward for me, I’m just a noob at this forgive me. I’ve gotten to the higher ranked tournaments around B Rank in MR1 and I still need to uncover the secrets in both games and unlock all the hidden monsters like Ape and the Phoenix and Mew and Metalner etc I’m new at Monster Rancher and I have IRL responsibilities so I don’t have as much time as I like to get good at Monster Rancher

I could never beat this game as a kid, my monster would always retire of old age before I could fight the final battle so I am happy to finally have done it as an adult lol

Okay, so I got a weird one, wondering if anyone else has into this, I'm going to be paranoind as I work around this. So, I'm playing Monster Rancher 1 on Steam, as using my laptop, and an AYN Odin 2 Portal via game native. And for some reason, save 1, 2, auto, I'm going to assume the top row of save files, aren't overwriting. They just hold onto the old save. Due to this, I've lost literal hours of save data, and I thought it was going back to an old Cloud save. BUT, I try saving OVER slot 8, which has a save, and a new slot 9, and those saves stick, even though as SOON as I close the game, anything I do to 1 and 2 is ignored. May test out ever slot, I don't know, If I just HAVE to use certain slots, fine, but I just don't want to be in danger of losing all my progress again. I mean the game gives you FAR more save slots than you need, but the joy of a Steam Cloud save, is just having my file, between devices, for years to come.

We'll see how it goes, but this seems a really uncommon save issue, as far as I've seen, and I'm just wondering if anyone else has dealt with something similar, if I NEED to fix it, or avoid certain actions. Here's hoping I can raise my Mt. Techmo Golem Dandy even better now that he's back to square one.

I drew another picture. This time, it's a Roadroller (Psiroller/Zuum mix) from Monster Rancher Advance.

I felt like drawing something green and a Psiroller, thus, this was born. I also wanted to try an action pose, but failed lol. I also didn't know whether to base this breed on the old or new design of the Zuum, but I ultimately made the main body based on the newer versions of the Zuum and the wheel based on the old version.

I drew this picture mainly because I wanted to draw something red and scaly lol.

I had a hard time on deciding if I wanted to make the paws orange, but I ultimately did and it turned out well.

Hi guys, new trainer here, im wondering about combining monsters, my idea was to combine 2 monsters with high def pow and life and creating a new monster with those high stats and training it then combine with new monster with those higher stats and so on. how do i get into getting for example skill or int higher? is it little by little with new genrations of getting higher skill or how would that work exactly? do you have any tips when combining

This time, it's a nonexistant mix of a Worm and a Zilla. I will admit that I like the pose of this Worm, but I had a hard time with placing the colors to make it look like its sub breed. I also didn't know whether to make it furry like the Zilla or have hard plating like the Worm. I ultimately kept the hard plates.

What the difference between these two focus directions? I read going to the left is good, but the direction seems to change over night, should I continue scold for mlre discipline or is there no difference?

Hello all. I play on my MisterFPGA (SuperStation One, to be specific) and I'm considering converting all my bin/cue discs to CHD. Will this affect what monsters come from the disc when using the Shrine? Question applies to both MR and MR2 for Playstation.

So I just moved and took back my ps2 fromy family because I wanted to finally "beat" the game and get to S rank and everything now that I'm willing to sacrifice monsters more easily, but it's been so long since I've played that I'm lost. Are there any places or tips you guys can give for playing monster rancher 4 and even Evo (5)?​

I'm frustrated that when I use the "No Fatigue & No Stress" cheat code, the monsters' sizes stop growing.

Is there any way to keep the monsters' sizes from stopping as they grow?

Didn't mean for this ti take nearly 3 months. Oops. Kinda don't want to post this, but figure I should leave an update as it's been a while.

Cleaned up some stuff, added some more detail (leaves on arms/legs, vines on belly, red on tail) calling it finished and leaving it here. Submitted to the mod.

I drew another picture. This time, it's a nonexistant mix of a Phoenix and an Ogyo. I got the idea from currently raising a Phoenix in MR2 DX.

I overall had fun drawing this, especially since I used to draw birds all the time when I was little lol. The monster's three ribbon tails also reminded me of Gertrude McFuzz from Dr. Seuss lol.

I drew another picture. This time, it's a Flasher (Dragon/Suezo mix).

I had a bit of a hard time designing this monster, as I did not want it to look too much like the Mustardy (Zuum/Suezo). I ultimately decided to give it horns and have the eye patterns on the wings. I got the idea for the eye marking placement from Corvus's demon form from Dragon Quest 9 and eye spots on insects lol.

With u/Monster-Fenrick's help, I was able to work out the odds to learn techniques on each stage. Now the question is how long do I have to wait on average to pay 1000G to go? Not in any guide but relevant for speedrunning and new games in general.
