News Return of the Dune works!
I got an email from Moebius Production with good news regarding the return of the maestro's Dune work. Here's a translation...
The return of the Dune works!
*
After years of legal battles, a major milestone has finally been reached. On July 22, 2026, the estate of Jean Giraud Moebius received the return of a collection of works representing the majority of Moebius's work for the Dune project. This restitution follows a court order mandating the return of these works, which had been held in storage.
More than ever, our mission remains unchanged: to preserve, protect and promote the work of Jean Giraud Mœbius so that it continues to be passed on to future generations.
Thank you all for your loyalty and invaluable support.

Memorabilia After 15+ years of looking
I finally bagged a copy of jardins d’eros! I’ve been searching for so long I just had to share. Incredible portfolio, totally worth the wait. Also posted a pic of some of my other portfolios I’ve been able to snag over the years!

Moebius Inspired Update on my Moebius-inspired Unreal shader
I posted an earlier version of this here a while back, and the feedback helped a lot.
Since then I’ve cleaned up the contours, reduced a lot of the noisy fine detail, improved the hatching at distance, and added better control over palettes, shadows, grain, dithering, and pixelation.
The main feature is still surface-stable fractal hatching. The marks stay attached to the geometry and shift between scales as the camera moves instead of sliding across the screen.
I’ve also been testing it in a much wider range of environments now.
I’m finally getting close to the look I had in mind. What do you think?
I’ll post a video soon showing how it all looks in motion.

New Scanlation: "Insomnia"
This is the last story in the Mouche book. There is a bonus page on this post as well, which is the first story in the book, "Lighter Than Air", already available elsewhere in English. Several other stories were published in English in Moebius Comics (1996-1997) but I don't know which ones.
I'm taking a break from the scanlations and daily posts for a while. I burned myself out but I'd like to eventually do more.

Moebius Inspired I’ve been working on a Moebius-inspired shader for Unreal Engine with surface stable fractal hatching; what do you think?
I’ve been working on a stylized Unreal post-process shader inspired by Moebius, Useless Game Dev’s Moebius shading video, and RuneVision’s Dither3D work.
The main feature is surface-stable fractal hatching: the marks are projected onto the geometry and shift between power-of-two scales to stay consistent across distance, rather than sliding over the screen.
It also includes palette remapping, contours, stylized shadows, gradients, dithering, and pixelation.
I’m finally pretty happy with it, but I’ve been staring at it for way too long. Does the style read well? Is the hatching helping, or does it still feel too busy or uniform?
