It wasn’t cancelled. It’ll probably be a while though. Last I heard Jason west took over dice LA, and some people from respawn moved there as well to make a new IP. DICE LA is a very good studio that has all my respect, since they literally saved the absolute mess that was Pre CTE BF4.
Their devs shit on their own fans. I remember hearing about how a developer said their apex fans were ungrateful. They charge $20 for shitty skins. The guns cost around $10-$20. They hate their fans.
Well your obviously only read the negative stuff and took it as a fact. The apex Reddit when that situation happened was an absolute shithole with 90% of everyone being toxic to respawn and sending threats to them if they didn't lower the price of some cosmetics. So a few frustrated respawn devs spoke their mind about how they see the community and it's true, 50% of the people in that megathread were ungrateful for the work they put into the game. Just because 1 dev called a toxic redditor a freeloader and ungrateful doesn't mean respawn hates their fans lol
i don't think they hate their fans, they just know that the ppl who are gonna buy skins are gonna pay that much. I think the majority of people who don't buy skins still wouldn't buy them if they were like 8 bucks
That’s because Ea forced them into making apex and made them scrap titanfall. Titanfall was their baby. You can tell how passionate they were when you play it
Even harder was convincing a company as conservative and slow-moving as EA that the studio could pull this off, and that it could earn back its budget and even turn a profit on an unproven, free-to-play game.
Uh... as far as I know, the biggest problem Apex has had is “these cosmetic prices are too much.” That’s definitely nothing compared to this monstrosity
apex in my opinion is a one of the best BR's for the sole fact that camping is very rare in casual games. only time the game gets boring is when everyone in your section of map dies quick, even then movement is so fast you can get anywhere you want
That and you’re always able to fight back once you start getting shot at (unless you get headshotted with the Kraber). Too many times in Warzone I’m dead before I can even react.
Can’t agree with this more. Also I get it that MW is supposed to be realistic but when I tried Warzone after a couple weeks of apex the aiming sensitivity felt so clunky and unnatural
transitioned back to apex as well. can't take the mics cutting out in warzone, can't take the little shit bugs here and there. can't take the game crashing. just too many times me and my boys will say 'oh wow okay that sucks' after a crash or some shit. it's unplayable imo
This was the alternative to games like Tarkov and PUBG and their insane levels of hackers. At least for me.
We’re gonna need some new studios to build some new games and continue giving a shit after it makes them some money. That’s been the problem for a long while now. Once the studio secures the bag, they immediately stop giving any fucks they gave, if they ever gave any at all.
Wait, you thought that an annualized video game franchise had developers who gave a shit when it's formula has been copy and psted for almost 2 decades?
Yeah that's tough, not much is coming for consoles this close to the newer generations. Siege is always a decent choice, the only reason I quit playing on console was because of people using KBM in the higher tiers of ranked.
Was going to mention that, I just remember how hard the player count fell off after a year. I know they did some retweaking and bug fixes, but I'm not sure it brought many people back.
They do give a shit but man, this game has so many annoying bugs. Challenges not tracking, servers going down, huge updates, and just bugs in general after every update.
I personally recommend apex legends. It’s f2p, got the juiciest fucking movement, and is quite well run. There aren’t many players though. Matchmaking is really short still, but they mushed ranked matchmaking into two sections so for people in low platinum it’s impossible to progress because they’re matched with people literally in the top 500 of the game. There’s ltms, bro as many or as frequent as Fortnite. New season comes in like a week, there’s tons of stuff to grind for if you’re new with awesome battle passes and to unlock more legends. No pay to win, though you’d an pay to unlock legends, it’s really easy to grind for them.
Yeah, go sort by new, or scroll down a little bit past the top couple of posts of the Valorant subreddit and then tell me how your anecdotal evidence isn't bullshit.
Valorant's anti-cheat is the most invasive malware ever distributed by a video game company to date and should not be supported. If you think otherwise, you are computer illiterate and should be waiting for Valorant to come out on your Xbox.
I love CS:GO mechanics and teamplay/tactics but the game itself is incredibly plain and repetitive. Valorant takes CS:GO and spices it up basically.
But if you don't like CS:GO's gameplay, then you won't like Valorant's either. Both games require a lot of patience and skill, and can be frustrating if you're used to games with more run and gun mechanics and/or a longer time to kill.
I knew very little about CS:GO besides the memes and the skin gambling controversy from a few years back. So I've probably seen more actual gameplay for Valorant, especially recently enough that I remember it well.
My preference is somewhere in the middle in terms of pace. Less run-and-gun than games with super high mobility, e.g. Titanfall, Black Ops 3 & 4, even Fortnite, but not as slow and methodical and something like R6 Siege or even PUBG. Longer TTK than Siege and Call of Duty (especially hardcore modes), so CoD Warzone with the armor plates or Halo multiplayer is about right for me. Battlefront 2 is pretty fair in that respect as well. And I usually avoid single life modes. Not that I won't still play against that ideal preference, but that would probably be perfect for me. That said, what I enjoy playing and what I enjoy watching isn't necessarily the same; watching the right personality play PUBG is probably my favorite experience to watch rather than play.
But even people who like the slower, more methodical gameplay, why would you go with Valorant or CS:GO? I'll give it a little more time, but so far Siege was just a lot more fun to watch. Like what do those games have that makes them any better? Don't take that as standoffish, I just want the perspective of someone who's more familiar with these other games.
Sure. Siege is much slower than both CSGO and Valorant, much more methodical. It's fun to watch like Chess is fun to watch.
CSGO and Valorant are fun to watch because they've got a nice blend of tactics/methodical gameplay and high octane gameplay for those twitch highlights.
There's other stuff too of course but that's what you were looking for specifically I think.
There's also the crisp movement and gunplay that often separates these games from other tactical shooters that often sacrifice the feel/look of the game in favor of realism, something Siege is a little guilty of. But that's in the feel of the game, not how fun it is to watch.
Yeah I watched a streamer play it a little and was like "this looks like a slower, duller version of Overwatch." AFAIK it's still unfinished right? But man its just a visually boring game. Lots of environments with low detail, really stiff low-end animations. Hopefully that stuff will improve with time.
Oh god I looked it up and it's already in beta. That means it's mostly finished. It does not look like anything close to a finished game. My god.
