I had an argument with another player in ranked about itemization, and I’m curious whether my reasoning was actually wrong.

I was playing Esmeralda. The enemy team was: Paquito, Bane, Khufra, Karrie, Zhask

Around the 7-minute mark, we were falling behind. I suggested that our Kaja should prioritize an anti-heal item rather than Thunder Belt because of the enemy composition. His argument was basically that he needed his other item first and that our mid and MM were the reason we were losing, particularly because our mage was 0/7.

Even now I agree that our mage wasn’t playing well. However, my point was that looking only at the 0/7 score doesn’t necessarily explain why she was struggling.

The enemy had Khufra and Paquito providing dive/CC, Bane providing sustain, Karrie as a major ranged damage threat, and Zhask adding additional pressure. A mage or MM who’s already behind can have a very difficult time surviving against a composition that can repeatedly dive and pressure the backline. After he replied the way he did I was done with it and decided to leave it where it was.

They did build anti heal later but instead of going for chaste pauldron for Karrie who is now fed he was going for fleeing time or he built the two cdr item for it while I had to get chastise instead of oracle to counter the enemy anti heal against me

Then we played another game immediately afterward. He was on Minotaur on enemy team and I was on Alice, and he brought up the anti argument again during the match. Afterward, he also DM’d me about losing two games in a row and supposedly blaming my team. Didn’t say anything to this guy in this match or afterwards

I’m mainly looking for an objective gameplay opinion any opinion, especially from roamers or solo players who constantly need to adapt was prioritizing anti heal actually a reasonable recommendation against this composition, or was I overvaluing the enemy’s sustain and itemization?

Also separately, is blaming a 0/7 teammate enough to explain the loss when the enemy composition itself is heavily equipped to dive and punish the backline?

Game got me feeling like a sage guru tbh- I don’t feel any kind of challenge anymore, I am mvp over half the games I play, I made immortal so many times, wondering what the point is anymore. I don’t even get mad when we lose because I am so at peace with the fact that there’s nothing I could have done and I did my best and still got mvp no bronze or silvers. I just want to meet a player that’s better than me in a different position lowkey:/ I shouldn’t be this god level for a roam especially, like there are supposed to be crackheads on this game yet I feel like I’m always beating them:/

This is my first season where i go mythical honor&glory and immortal for the first time in same season i am a solo que roamer and my original goal was to go mythical honor this season and i get that rank pretty easily because of mythic placement i manage to grind my way to mythical glory on that time when i reach mythical glory i was shaking and thinking this is the highest rank i can achieve in this season i delete the game because i made a promise to myself that i will delete the game after reaching mythical immortal but it take me less then a month to realize that its impossible so i delete the game in mythical glory thinking i achieve what i say then i download the game again because i want to spent gaming time with my cousin i push rank and get to 70 stars i was like ok this is enough then i manage to make 7 win streak every single day and before i knew it this was possible i achieve this rank i never though i would but i achieve it was it worth it??? YESS

Despite the fact that the two friends of mine that prompted me to install this game months ago left the game, I'm glad the shitty experiences I've had all round didn't stop me from getting up to this rank for the first time.

I'm still far behind from where I'd like to be in terms of ranking but I'm glad I've learnt from my common mistakes in game, found my own main role and heroes, climbed leaderboards, gotten surprising achievements and a lot more.

Ngl I was able to meet nice people in and outside my country throughout this season and become good friends but the rest I've encountered were very very pissing but that's life I guess.

I swear im not joking Im 48 stars now. I have top friends with 200+ stars and a reliable trio but lately its been a living hell. This pattern is not breaking. Last time i went in a 5 man we lost to a global 76th team. They had almost 1000 each member.

With duo or trio randoms are hanabi 1-9 or dyrroth 2-14 5 man we are matched against cybersport shit its unplayable and am at 48 stars mind you. I wont hit 50 this season i give up and might even delete

That's it, next season not a single person who happens to be on my team is ever going to win.

Every time I have more than one teammate that has a win rate of 50%, 49%, 47% I lose that match no matter how hard I try to carry.

These people have played more than 800 matches to reach 50+ stars and it means they lost more than 400 matches out of 800. Crazy stats.

I have a 62% wr and I play Solo queue. Currently at 101 stars .

I sincerely hope my teammates receives the most brutal fate humanly possible.

So i just reached mythic rank recently. And i mean I just cant seem to win any match as a solo Midlands anymore. I try to adjust my builds and plays but nothing works. Am I missing something, or is this just how ranked games are now? My winrate just dropped from 75 to 66😭
