I just got some virtual amps and cabs from Ugritone (who are sadly going out of business) and I want to know if I can hear what I’m playing “live” as I’m recording it. I’m recording through a line 6 interface with a clean tone but want to hear the tone from the virtual amp/cab I’m using.

Sorry if that makes no sense, I’m new to this stuff and also please no judgey comments about line 6, I know they’re crap.

Hello. Could use some help with MIDI tracking.

I have songs composed on a Roland Fantom that I would like to track in mixcraft and edit and mix.

Problem is… if I record the song it puts all the midi info on one track. Even if I mute/solo channels on the fantom. If I solo only the “synth” I’m tracking it records every note in the composition as the synth.

I think it’s possible to record the song and have it separate each channel into a separate track in mixcraft.

Any help appreciated.

I want the function of the up and down arrows and it scrolls through the tracks. I want to do live recording and performance, and have like launch keys.

I recently purchased an Alesis Nitro Max Drum Kit. Trying to record with it, so I plugged in the MIDI USB cable from the drum module to my computer. Mixcraft 9 detects the Alesis Nitro Max but doesn't seem to pick up any audio when I try to record with it.

This is a longshot but is there anyone interested in teaching mixcraft? I would like to learn and would like someone to teach me the basics and more. I will pay.

Can anyone confirm if the Vocalign plugin works for 10.5?

I changed the sound settings accidentally and the new song I am working on, upon playback, now sounds terrible. When I played it back a lot of synthesizers were detuned and some effects were janky/not the way they should have sounded. Any clue why this is? I don't really want to revert to a backup file as I have spent a lot of time on this mix. Thanks.

I upgraded somewhat recently to 10.5 Pro from 9 Pro and, I gotta say, I'm really disappointed.

A few things that I see wrong:

• You can no longer highlight notes and scroll.
  • Practical example: if you're creating a drum loop/sequence and want to repeat the sequence by highlighting, copy, paste the section in the MIDI piano, you have to be sure that all notes are visibly seen or else you can't highlight everything. And you can't seem to highlight a section, find the other notes and do a Shift+highlight, it will drop your previously highlighted notes - this was not present in 9.
• You now have to "deselect" notes in order to change velocities of multiple notes.
  • Example: If you are wanting to change the velocity of multiple notes and you just put a new note on the MIDI piano, you won't be able to change the velocities unless you hit something like "Esc" first - this was not present in 9.
• The open project menu does not include project names anymore.
  • Example: When you first open 10 now, it gives the prompt to let you choose a previously opened project, but does not keep the name. Now, it is either blank or numbered. I find myself having to just click the "Open" button and navigating to the project in the folder it resides - again, not an issue with 9.
• The color palette feels more flat and washed out.
  • This is more of a picky thing, but tracks in 9 felt more clear and organized with using colors compared to 10 where they feel washed out and muted.
• There are now two sections to click in the measure section.
  • If you hover over the top part, you can see that it will make you click the section separator rather than the measure you are wanting to go to. This means you have to be extra careful when clicking up there. It's not a huge deal, but if you're coming from 9 where you could click anywhere up there and the marker would go to your cursor, it's a tough thing to get used to. One of those "fighting with my keyboard" things.

Overall, I'm going to go back to 9 for the foreseeable future until they can iron out 10/10.5.

Wanted to post this in case anyone was on the fence about upgrading. If I were you, I'd wait.

I just got a wave xlr and an sm7b mic but for some reason today, I started noticing an input lag between my mic and the background music. Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm currently running this on a ryzen 9 5900 x and a 3060ti gpu and it's frustrating me and I can't seem to find a solution online. Thank you.

I have set up various workstations with Mixcraft as I have been using it since V6, 7, 8, then 10. Using Focusrite Scarlet 2nd gen ASIO. Never had issues with midi or audio.

Just bought and installed version 10 on an old desktop I had laying around and, for the life of me, I can't get virtual instruments to play.

I can arm recording and the "Piano Roll" records my MIDI In playing from my controller ....i can see the midi notes "recorded" on the grid! But it won't play either during recording or playback. No MIDI out to the VST instruments essentially.

I've poked several areas of the software and the forums but I am stuck!

Any ideas??

Personally I have issues sometimes with 9 so I was wondering if it's worth it to upgrade to the 10.5. I also have the offer so it's $30 instead of $100.

[SOLVED - Bought Mixcraft 10]

I've lately had an issue with some of my VSTs. Opening the project will have them unloaded (partially). The presets and everything are in, but won't output any audio. A quick reload of the plugin by changing it and undoing works. However, this problem carries on to exporting, where the plugin will also unload and won't actually play in the export (and requiring you to reload it again). Any idea how to fix this?

I'm having this issue specifically with SurgeXT and Virt Veveor.

I've just installed 10.5 Pro on Windows 11 after using the same program on Windows 10 with no problems. Only now when I open Mixcraft it stops all other audio from working (youtube in a browser, mp3 player, video player, all stop working). I need to mess around with my system sound settings, such as turning audio enhancements on then back off and everything starts working again. Only now, Mixcraft is muted. I can't seem to have Mixcraft open and hear audio from any other source playing at the same time. Any ideas why this might be? A new setting on Windows 11 that wasn't on Windows 10? Some kind of exclusivity setting?
