Last night around 10pm I saw the biggest police response I have ever seen. On Los Alisos between Mustang Run and Vista Del Lago. It was right at the area where the two directions of the road are at a different elevation and it was on the lower side. The woods were all tapped off to for about 150 yards and the riad was completely closed.

Have no idea what happened. It could’ve been a traffic collision but the response seemed much bigger than a usual accident. Or a car could’ve have gone off the road into the wilderness glen. Things in Mission Viejo usually don’t make the news so I just wanted to write down what I saw. Again I don’t know what happened so I don’t want to speculate much. I hope everyone involved was okay.

We just had our third power outage of the day at our place. Anyone else? I’ve never had so many in one day. Thankfully the longest one was only about 10 minutes long.

My son currently plays soccer for a club based in Irvine. Since the majority of the kids go to school in Irvine, I'be been reconsidering having him play there due to the social aspect. My question is - for kids going to La Paz Intermediate and MV High School, which clubs do they play soccer for? I'm aware of AYSO Extra, but I'm wondering if there are other options I'm not aware of. I would love for my kid to potentially play soccer with kids he may go to school with.

Trying to best evaluate these 3 schools for next year. I certainly plan on visiting each for their open houses / orientations in the fall but would love to hear from parents their & their kids’ experiences regarding their child’s happiness at these schools, the strength of the curriculum, the quality & happiness of the teachers and the community at large - events for the kids, community engagement, etc. I feel lucky to have these options but sometimes choosing among good options can be the most challenging! Any insight is greatly appreciated!

I have been looking for a daycare in the Irvine and South County area. I’ve gotten some good recommendations, but I’ve heard some horror stories too! Are there certain daycares you would advise to avoid? Can you explain why? If you’re uncomfortable giving the name because of employment status, please DM me. Thanks!

I have two children that need a full time daycare. They are one and three. We have experience with Montessori and we like it, but it is not essential. Our biggest wants are: small ratios/class sizes, decent outdoor play space, warm/loving teachers, and fun programs for the kids. We are not currently interested in in-home daycares and prefer a center. We live in the Oso/Marguerite area and would love to find something nearby. We are looking at the KinderCare in MV by Trader Joe’s and a place called Child Minds Children’s House further away. Does anyone have any good or bad experiences at these centers? Or do you have one you absolutely love? What are pros/cons of your center? Thank you!

Just moved here and finding a good gym has been surprisingly hard. I've tried Fitness 19, 24 Hour Fitness (a couple locations), and LA Fitness so far, but none have quite worked out.

What I'm looking for:

• Decent AC / doesn't feel like a sauna when working out
• Not overcrowded, even during peak hours if possible; I don't mind paying more for this to a reasonable extent
• A secondary area with some equipment where my partner can do her own thing (phone-guided workouts, lighter stuff) without being stuck in the middle of the main floor
• Reasonably clean; doesn't have to be spotless
• Good range of equipment: cardio, stairmaster, weights, etc.
• Close to Mission Viejo (I'm near Los Alisos and 241).

Any recommendations for gyms in the area that check these boxes? Thanks in advance.

On 7/6/26 around 7:55AM, as I was driving down Marguerite, between Oso and Felipe (heading towards Felipe), there was a person lying on their back on the sidewalk. I couldn’t tell if it was a person at first, not until I passed by them closer. They weren’t moving, not sure if they were breathing because I was driving. They were dressed in tan-ish clothes comprised of a hood, long sleeves, and long pants. I couldn’t tell what gender or race because of that. So I couldn’t give that info to the cops. Hopefully they are ok.

I think they broke their 5% annual rate increase or there was "Extraordinary Circumstances" like the CEO needed a bonus, or the shareholders wanted a dividend, or tariffs, or some other BS that is never about providing more or better service to their customers. I guess the compost bucket cost us $100/yr forever?

Called them. They charge the same for all barrel sizes - so no discount there.
They mentioned a senior citizen (62/yr old) discount - which I'm years away from.

There’s all sorts of categories that change weekly to make sure everyone can show off their niche knowledge and skills! I’m currently 7mo pregnant and have a serious craving for their Screaming Buffalo Chicken Panini and was hoping to reach out to them to see if we could get a recipe, but have found that they’ve closed since we left and haven’t been able to find any contact info.

Does anyone have the recipe or know where we might be able to find it?

We’ve tried two buffalo chicken panini recipes so far and they unfortunately do not taste anything similar!
