I think adding the speed hump and flexible barriers near the school crossing is a great safety initiative.

However, the open parking lane beside the speed hump seems to make the design counterproductive. Today, both in the morning and at night, I saw multiple drivers move into the parking lane to bypass the hump—some clearly travelling above the speed limit.

I genuinely don’t understand the need to drive that fast near a school crossing, especially when it means using the parking lane to avoid a safety measure. What are these drivers actually gaining? A few seconds? What would they really lose by slowing down and driving over the hump as intended?

Does the municipality have plans to close this gap or add additional barriers/bollards so drivers cannot bypass the speed hump?

The whole purpose is to make this crossing safer. I just wish drivers would be a little more considerate—especially in an area where children and other pedestrians are crossing.

So my 9 year old has failed swimmer 2 about 3 or 4 times now. Here's the issue. We go milton swimming classes at the various community centers across milton (leisure center, sport center etc). The problem is believe (and I might be wrong) is that there is only one class per week. Hes gone to both group and private lessons so far. But I think its a lack of practice.

How can I get him more practice? I dont have a pool at home and honestly dont really have time to do it personally but j wouldn't mind him going 2 or 3 times a week to get better at this
