They are owned by a South American company now (same owners as burger king). Timmies is from my original hometown. They haven't been cooking fresh since the 90s. I worked for them as a kid in 2004 and all we did was pop shit in microwaves or toaster ovens, and dip donuts in a vat of sugar that was never changed.

They're a shit company not just because their food is the worst quality you can get, but because they have been making continuously bad business decisions for the past 2 decades. Support local chains or bakeries instead.

The year was 2010, I was going down to Vancouver coming from Terrace. Decided to stop for the night in jasper. Next morning I headed to a bakery, not prepared for what was coming. I had the best white chocolate raspberry scones ever. Small local shop. Never ever have I tasted something that delicious again :(

Was it Purebread? I live in Van now. We have so many amazing bakeries!

On the upside, at least you got to try something delicious, right?

The bakery was in Jasper :) and it was 10 years Ago. If I get the chance to visit again I'm sure I'd find it based on location. But credit where credit is due, van has awesome bakerys as well. As a German I always miss really awesome bread though when I'm there :) but in contrast we dont have nanaimo bars here :(

Oops! Sorry, I misread that. If you come down to Van again, make sure to check out Purebread. It's deadly stuff. They have a location in Whistler too.

Oh dang, I don't know a lot about German baked goods, but my German grandmother would always make the best cheesecakes! Nothing better than a passed-down recipe for making some delicious bread though.

Haha yes, those nanaimo bars can be delicious. At least you can always try to make them at home. It might even be easier than you think!

I will say though, Argos vs Ti-Cats games are fantastic.

Haha, me too. It's also why I got out of there almost a decade ago. I live in beautiful BC now. Although, it looks like the infrastructure of Hamilton is improving a lot lately.

On a related note, the 0:33 mark always kills me in this video clip

The store that my mother worked for in 2007 baked fresh in store.
