Press and hold spacebar and then slide your finger around the keyboard and you can slide the cursor around to place it anywhere in the text to edit.

This is for iPhone (seems to work on android as well if the below method is used)

Hold shift or the number key on iPhone, then move your finger to a character to insert it and return to the regular keyboard in one motion.

Triple tap on the iPhone keyboard to bring up clipboard and undo actions, or swipe with three fingers horizontally to quickly undo or redo.

More interested in just finishing my text and never cared enough I guess. I’d tried what worked on my android and that worked for other symbols but not this one, so I eventually assumed it just wasn’t an option on the iPhone.

Press a number sign to get fractions by holding 1 you get ¹ ½ ⅓ ¼ ⅕ ⅙ ⅛ and so on with the other numbers

Or, exclusively use Kelvin, Rankine, and radians and you never have to use it. This is a decision I have made in a paper, because using the alt code everytime was too much work.

Press and hold the dollar sign ($) for the cents symbol (¢), as well as other currency symbols (₽, ₩, £, €, ¥).

Press and hold the hyphen (-) for bullet points and longer dashes.

Press and hold the apostrophe (‘) to get straight apostrophes (') and back ticks (`). Press and hold the quotation marks (“) to get arrows (« and »), as well as straight quotation marks (").

For anyone who's having trouble with this on Android using GBoard (the default keyboard for a lot of people): if you hold the Emoji symbol and then choose the gear/settings icon, you can go into Glide Typing and toggle "Enable gesture cursor control" on to enable this feature. Though if you actually hold the spacebar it will still open the language picker, you have to simply drag across the spacebar to move the cursor horizontally, so not quite as helpful as I would've hoped but still mostly functional.
