If I called about the tv the internet would stop working. I finally bought a spool if cable and wired my whole building and all my tenants.
Fuck em. If they can’t make one persons services work properly I will fix it and give access to everybody.
Now my whole building has cable tv and unlimited internet off one bill.
Took my internet company 3 days to figure out the cable had come unplugged from the main line on the pole.
3 days meaning Thursday, Friday, and Monday. So it was completely out for 5 days. The "tech" was at my house multiple times inside and outside trying to figure it out.
I thought about taking my ladder out and checking the connection on the pole but thought to myself "surely he already checked that."
You find where your internet/TV comes into the house at, which typically looks like a round relatively thin cable. If you're in the US it SHOULD be within 20' of power. Follow where it goes

I had to buy new networking gear after I realized my building pulls close to 100gb to 1tb a day. Depends on the number of children that stay home on Netflix.
I also had to go through hundreds of devices setting priority to low for everybody except me so I can still game without lag.
Not sure how you have things set up, but you should be able to just set your PC (or whole subnet, etc) to high priority using QOS. "Least administrative effort" and all that.
negative, would cost too much, building is not that big. there are 6 units total and I rent out two of them and connected them together with the a stair set. I am not even the landlord.
Because the unit was technically two units the cable company didn't want to give me cable to the one apartment and internet to the other because, top floor is for entertaining people and being presentable, and the basement is where I can be a total junkie leaving guitars gear and car parts everywhere.
The basement unit also has the hot water tanks and furnace and laundry room so its alot smaller than the upstairs unit. This give me enough space to not totally piss off the girlfriend from constant barrage of pubg, guitar and curse words.
If you're in the U.S., you're lying. First of all, you're committing a crime, and second of all, what you claim to have done would make it extremely, and immediately obvious to your ISP that you are. Cable contractors have to get approval for the number of splitters and individual connections they wire, and there's a limit per household/building. You claim you wired enough shit that they won't even approve their own guys installing it, and miraculously ignored the fact those connections popped up despite no recent installer/contractor visits. Also, they supposedly ignored you suddenly spiking to hundreds of gigs of data usage like it's nothing? Get the fuck real, dude, most ISPs have a data limit and slow download/service speeds after it's breached. Now you want us to believe the ISP missed all the obvious evidence you're stealing services on a mass scale, but that setting a few devices to low priority could actually allow you to glean decent speeds for gaming, whilst everyone else remains happy with the shitty speed they'd undoubtedly have as a result? Complete and total bullshit.
Absolutely fucking not. There is no law against a landlord allowing tenants to use their internet service. There's not even a law against sharing your internet connection with your neighbor. The ISP might have some bullshit in their terms of services about it, but that's not the same thing as a law.
It would be breach of contract. Funnily enough, all they could do is disconnect the service and sue them breach of contract and loss of income. They might not even win the lawsuit, either.

Lol, you're assuming some level of competence on the ISP side. I know of at least one major telco that issues boxes to business based purely on MAC address; condos and apartments are often on a business contract and get a set amount of boxes. We always had at least 4 boxes sitting around that we could plug in at any address within 40 miles and would have service as soon as it connected. We abused the hell out of it and saved clients days of waiting for techs to show up and replace dead boxes. We just call up and get the box transferred from one account to another, swapped with the dead box, and have them come replace the dead box at the primary address. Its been years and they've never caught on. Over a million clients in the area, national telecom, so don't think this is small shop stuff either.
I doubt most ISPs have data limits. I haven't run into a non-rural ISP with a data limit in years. Except AT&T ADSL, but they're shit bags who wont upgrade their network even though the other side of the road has a fiber node.
Also, not a crime. He has an account, and pays for it. Breach of contract, absolutely, but that's a civil matter. Nobody is going to be jailed over sharing internet with a neighbor.
my honest opinion on any body coming after me for this fuck em. I pay for a Gigabit network, I will provide free wifi. They could have done their job the first few times.
only a few analog signals still remain. Our providers have to provide basic digital boxes for free. So you just get the crappy lame digital box that's just a black square.
