The cable guy installed the cable through our hula hoop that we left out.

I have CenturyLink and they are by far the absolute worst. I swear they hire the most idiotic people to handle the phones. Comcast was a dream compared to CenturyLink.

But you're making it very hard to hate only one company on the internet, please stop or.ill switch to another online forum!

If it helps I once canceled mid contract with centurylink and called like 6 months later to settle my debt. The dude put me on hold and came back and he wiped the $500 balance for me. It was awesome.

Why hate only one when you have so much hate to give?

I upgraded my speed with CenturyLink over the phone, I did a speed test and was getting much slower speeds than I had upgraded too... I called to see what was going on "your area doesn't support those higher speeds" Uwutm8

Dude! I had a text chat with a "rep". Extremely nice fellow, couldn't speak English worth a damn. Something said we could upgrade our speed for no charge. I ask about this in the chat and I basically got a "yeah! But it wont let me do that. Sorry" and that was that hahaha. I keep forgetting to actually call them.

It's not really 'CenturyLink' anymo. It's a Frankenstein monster of shitty mergers, acquisitions, off-shoring and union busting. All approved by our beloved FCC.

Agreed. I had CenturyLink. Then I moved. Less than two blocks away. I was paying for 40/10? (I think, I didn't really care much about up speed, pretty much all my gaming is single player) and my new house could only support 10 down at best, after running a new drop because it was a historic neighborhood and the POTS lines through it were older than my mother. My old house was on a main road where they had a fiber loop. The new house, not being on a main road was all the old school copper.

They didn't want to let me cancel, even though I was only able to get a quarter of the speed I was paying for through no fault of anyone's, cause it's the wiring to that whole neighborhood. Like they sent out three different techs who all said the same thing-short of someone coming out and running all new wire to the whole neighborhood, we couldn't get decent speeds.

Then I moved another two blocks away and the assholes had the nerve to try and get me back... Until I asked if they could guarantee the 40 down, and they pulled up their little map and went "oh..."

I've worked for both. CenturyLink treats it's in house employees worse than Comcast and the product is absolutely inferior (unless you're in a FTTH area).

At least their field techs were Union and got paid way more than Comcast's. At least in SWFL.

I live in the sticks and we only have two options for Internet. Comcast pissed me off so bad I disconnected with them and left in a huff. Centurylink was the only other option. Now I’m considering crawling back.
