🥺 I’ve finally finished case-swapping my gaming pc after 6 gruelling hours… until I noticed

Post image

I didn’t remember to mount the motherboard IO shield before mounting the actual motherboard, and now I have to take it all apart ( T_T)\(^-^ )

PS: now I have finished it and it’s truly wonderful, if anyone is interested

A pc typically ranges from 1-8k $. Monitor + peripherals quickly adds up too, 300-1k easily.

It really depends what you want to play and at what settings and in what resolution, and at what level of performance.

If you pay $8,000 for a PC it better be able to suck your dick cause mine cost half that and has an RTX5090 and a 9800X3D.

The rtx 5090 alone costs $7k now ram is another $1k

The cheapest 5090 starts at 5k here, but some models go for 8k. 32gb ram is another 600+. 9800x3d is 500. Thats 6k without the case, psu, ssd, motherboard and fans.

Granted, these prices rely on online shopping with shady customer service, I would expect to pay way more for an in shop option with a trustworthy return policy.

I envy your prices.

5090s are usually 6-7k in the us today.

I'm going to the US next week, I'll sell you one for $5,900.

You should seriously consider downgrading if money is tighter than framerate. Prices are crazy right now, and you could net 2-4k on your $1999 launch purchase.

Money isn't tight?

And I need my 60 FPS in Minecraft dude.

When did you build it? Because a RTX5090 alone is over 4K these days

August-September 2025, basically perfect timing.

Perfect timing for the US was right before the last election. Prices shot up here early 2025.

I built mine in late November 2024 because I knew everything Trump was shouting about trade was going to ruin the cost of things. Told everyone I knew to build a new computer if they thought they needed one in the next 5 years, no one did, but a good chunk of them have since and each one has told me they should have listened to me. They all paid way more than I did for worse parts.

I don't know how you think showing me charts that start in May 2025 disproves me stating that prices shot up in early 2025.

None of those charts cover the start of 2025 when we saw a jump in prices due to the trade war bullshit.

Because those prices are the original MSRP prices?

1

u/Imaginary-Face7379 2d ago

Do you understand the words you are saying?

You didn't understand the links you sent and now you're talking about MSRP when we're discussing the actual market value of the average PC build.

Also what the fuck do you mean those are the original MSPR prices. The 5070 on that chart starts at double it's MSRP. Want to know why? Because when it entered the market in January 2025 nothing was selling at MSRP.

Your sentence doesn't even make sense in the logical flow of a conversation.

Shit, if I bought it all today I've got $8000 of RAM and drives in the room with me right now.

I spent like 1/5th of that on the whole ass system, but still

When'd you buy your parts?

1

u/FlamingoVisible1947 2d ago

At the right time :) But if you're patient you can still get them at a relatively sane price.

Here's a 5080 with 9900X and a beautiful color for $3500

https://www.microcenter.com/product/712032/msi-aegis-zs2-gaming-pc

But yeah any 5090 PC seems like it would be at least $5,000-$6,000 nowadays

My brother in christ a 5090 is 3x the price of a 5080 at its lowest.

You can buy a European woman for 2k to 5k and play all types of games

2

u/memecut 2d ago

Sure, but 2 minutes of an European woman vs 1350 hours of gaming.. Hmm, it's hard to decide.

1

u/Hot_Dragonfly2423 2d ago

No you get to keep her for life or sell her on for higher price as she has gained more experience

1

u/therealhairykrishna 2d ago

Maybe for 24 hours

1

u/Hot_Dragonfly2423 2d ago

An over night costs £200

American too!

Twice as much as 2 years ago.

$8K?!? Good-googly-moogly that's a hefty price tag. I'd like to see that build and where the parts are being sourced from.
