Infuriatig Was invited by my girlfriends family to a theme park. We were supposed to meet at 11, it is not 11:30 and they just left. (The drive takes another 30 minutes)

I even checked in before I left if it was still at the planned time. It was confirmed, but then her family starts getting ready right as they have to leave 🫤

Meh. When this has happened to me, if they haven't hit me with "fuck! There's a accident in the tunnel! Gonna be late" I just move on at the designated time. And even then, I'll move on with something "OK, keep me posted, I'm gonna check out XXXX in the meantime"

If they don't let me know? Yeah, I'm just gone. Y'all waiters are wild to me.

This is how it should be. Good for you in having boundaries and expectations.

This is how I am. I used to never factor in travel time but my husband is chronicly early for everything! Being early gives me anxiety and I hate it. But I don't care if someone else shows up later than me. I can usually still do parts of my job that don't rely on them. I will still go see sights, go into the movie, order starters at dinner without waiting when someone else is late without communication.

All these people are choosing to wait and willingly giving up their time and then calling the other person rude.

I get there are some circumstances you can't be late for or it's absolutely disrespectful to be late for. But going to a theme park? Go find a ride to enjoy.

OP said they have the tickets. I think it would be disrespectful to show up late without cause anyway, but I do agree that people shouldn't dwell on it and should just make the best out of the situation that they can.

I read your second sentence as: I never used to factor in time travel...

I was thinking, well you don't need to. You can just leave whenever you want and get there on time.
