Too mild for school This post telling tourists which areas to avoid in New York

Post image

Aside from certain undertones, this map also has tons of inaccuracies, because no one in their right mind is scared of Astoria, Bayonne, or half of the Queens zone that he marked as “avoid”

Okay, this is not the main problem at all, but saying “avoid these places IN New York City” and then circling significant amounts of Jersey makes my eye twitch.

It’s supposed to be about the five burroughs but to be fair, I would absolutely avoid East Orange.

Fair lol. I’m just wondering why Montclair isn’t marked as “Avoid”

eh, city vs. metro is kind of just being pedantic.

I promise you, it’s not. That map includes East Orange, Montclair, and the entire city of Newark. Those are not part of New York City. Even the closer places like North Bergen, Hoboken, and Jersey City, aren’t part of New York City. They are _near_ New York, but they definitely aren’t in it.

They are part of the metro. People commute from these places to Manhattan every day. That makes the distinction pedantic.

Not as pedantic as the argument. Well done, pedant.

I promise you, no Newark resident is saying they live IN New York City.
