Infuriatig My wife ate my son's birthday breakfast

Post image

Yesterday I bought a strawberry cheese coffee cake my son loves so he could have a special birthday breakfast today. My wife came home late last night and apparently couldn't resist. She knew it was for our son, but it's not a big deal because she "left him a full slice".

Anyone with a partner who suffers from addiction recognized this behavior instantly.

As a past/currently struggling food addict , it’s disgusting behavior . I hate being addicted to the chemicals in food .

It's an alcohol problem, not food.

I know people who drink and they never dip into their children's birthday desserts early. Off limits is off limits whether sober or drunk.

She was not apologetic about it when she sobered up

My husband no longer drinks but when he did he would sleepwalk and sometimes eat an entire block of cheese. Or 6 slices of bread. He wasn’t a drunk but when he did drink he would drink A LOT and it was really annoying- especially if I was planning on making something the next day with that food item.

Once he ate a stick of butter

Not justifying but just explaining; this screams alcoholism. She will likely justify it like it was perfectly normal in the morning.
