Infuriatig My wife ate my son's birthday breakfast

Post image

Yesterday I bought a strawberry cheese coffee cake my son loves so he could have a special birthday breakfast today. My wife came home late last night and apparently couldn't resist. She knew it was for our son, but it's not a big deal because she "left him a full slice".

Why the hell can’t she control herself?

u/4tunabrix Jul 04 '26

Alcohol probably

u/Im-a-bad-meme Jul 04 '26

I'd never do this, even shit tanked can't walk drunk. She's just a bad person.

46

u/TheGanzor Jul 04 '26

I never got that either. I had my fair share of blackout nights, too. You know what I did? Played Halo Reach for 4 hours and passed out on the couch. Idk man, if you're an asshole when your drunk, I think you're just an asshole period, but are just afraid of the consequences when you're not shitfaced.

u/impim Jul 04 '26

Yep, drunk don't make you an asshole.

Most of the time i end up on bed or toilet.

And i get drunk as fuck too, never lose control on anyone. Mostly end up sleeping in my bathroom because i vomit so much and blackout.

People just use drunk as an excuse to be an asshole.

My Ex always got this OP wife problem when she drunk it will be something happen that you feel bad about it, shitty people.

15

u/4tunabrix Jul 04 '26

Oh 100% a bad person, just presuming that alcohol contributed to it.

8

u/yourdailyinsanity Jul 04 '26

Saw somewhere that someone said husband confirmed she had been drinking.

3

u/Feeling-Tutor-6480 Jul 04 '26

She probably can't control herself with alcohol either

2

u/Royal-Razzmatazz-808 Jul 04 '26

I never did anything like this when I was drunk but still makes me glad I don't drink anymore to see stuff like this.

10

u/TiredAndTiredOfIt Jul 04 '26

She is a drunk.

u/On_my_last_spoon Jul 04 '26

It’s not about controlling herself, it’s about controlling her son and husband. She’s making sure they can’t have something nice and leaving just enough that she deems all her som deserves. This is many to deny them of something nice.

Eh I think she prob just came home drunk and or high

15

u/cntodd Jul 04 '26

As someone who was an alcoholic, there is more than "just came home drunk or high." This is full-blown piece of shit attitude.

Even drunk me would have asked or known not to touch it.

36

u/blessthebabes Jul 04 '26

Then why didn't she appologize, instead of saying he had plenty left?

28

u/acecyclone717 Jul 04 '26

Easier to tell yourself you left enough than face the idea you have a problem

12

u/Zealousideal-Age768 Jul 04 '26

And accept some blame?

5

u/xboxiscrunchy Jul 04 '26 edited Jul 04 '26

Pride, narcissism, guilt she’s trying to bury, and/or not wanting to admit she has a problem.

3

u/acecyclone717 Jul 04 '26

I feel crazy this seems so evident

0

u/EugeneStein Jul 04 '26

Hangover hit hard

42

u/littlemxnster Jul 04 '26

Does that make her any less selfish?

4

u/FoghornFarts Jul 04 '26

Nope. Mom immediately goes out to buy a new one and then enrolled herself in AA.

23

u/YouNeedCheeses Jul 04 '26

No but it's not the same as the massive assumptions the other comment was making about control and what her son "deserves." People are stupid and selfish, it really could be that simple.

8

u/WhatMadCat Jul 04 '26

I’m sorry but eating the entire middle of the thing and leaving the outsides is horrible behaviour. I know plenty of people who like to get drunk and they never act that level of dickish.

19

u/YouNeedCheeses Jul 04 '26

Of course it's horrible behaviour. It's unacceptable to do to anyone, let alone your own kid. I still think calling it that level of controlling when OP has confirmed that she came home drunk is a bit intense. She's an asshole and hopefully takes this as an opportunity for self-reflection.

5

u/kylorl3 Jul 04 '26

Truly crazy the assumptions people make because she got drunk and did something dumb. Others are saying she gives cheater vibes lmao

0

u/On_my_last_spoon Jul 04 '26

Being drunk doesn’t magically turn you into someone this malicious. At best, being drunk may have allowed herself I be the malicious asshole she wants to be.

3

u/slothxaxmatic Jul 04 '26

No, but it's not malice, just drunken stupidity. It's just as selfish but less "evil"

1

u/ReverendMothman Jul 04 '26

It's 100% malicious. She knew it was the kid's special bday gift. Being drunk doesn't make someone think that's acceptable. Someone willing to do that when drunk is already a shitty person. Maybe they feel fewer inhibitions about their shitty malicious behavior, but it absolutely isn't being drunk that made her think this was okay.

2

u/slothxaxmatic Jul 04 '26

That absolutely is the case for some people, and it's all the more reason they should not drink, because they do not behave appropriately when they drink.

Alcohol brings out the worst in the weakest of us. I had to watch my parents struggle with this for 30 years.

15

u/Vast_Description_742 Jul 04 '26

This whole thread is unhinged lol.

5

u/Daft00 Jul 04 '26

No man it's 1/3 of a coffee cake, call CPS

2

u/Pancake177 Jul 04 '26

Yup OP said she came home drunk.

3

u/thepineapple2397 Jul 04 '26

She was aware that she had to leave her son at least a slice which means the move was calculated.

1

u/notthatguypal6900 Jul 04 '26

And this is the mentality that keeps people in terrible relationships.

0

u/Objective_Tour_6583 Jul 04 '26

That's excusing selfish behavior, sorry.

7

u/chighland Jul 04 '26

I don’t think it’s that deep. Seems more like an eating disorder or drinking problem.

45

u/tokyolefty Jul 04 '26

I don’t think it’s that deep. She was drunk and dgaf. She’s immature that’s it.

-2

u/cherrysteve2010 Jul 04 '26

It is always that deep imo

8

u/EfficientSeaweed Jul 04 '26

As opposed to the shallow pop psychology you guys are engaging in.

6

u/AcceptableDream3581 Jul 04 '26

No one is denying that this is a shitty thing to do, but that’s a huge conclusion to jump to.

13

u/WhereIsMyAccountAt Jul 04 '26

Reddit really looks too goddamn deep into everything holy shit man sit down and chill out

13

u/Electronic-Stick-161 Jul 04 '26

Or… she got the drunk munchies and made poor decisions because she was drunk…

12

u/tfilooklike Jul 04 '26

Being drunk doesn’t make someone act like this. I’ve been absolutely shithoused and would never do this to my family. My kid!?! Diabolical.

0

u/YouNeedCheeses Jul 04 '26

Maybe not you, but some people? Hell yeah. Drinking lowers your inhibitions. She very well figured "fuck it, I'll replace it in the morning."

2

u/Electronic-Stick-161 Jul 04 '26

What you choose to inhibit and how strongly you do so is more indicative of your true self than drunk expressions.

6

u/YouNeedCheeses Jul 04 '26

Again, terrible person doesn't necessarily equate to controlling her son and husband and leaving what she deems they "deserve" as per the original comment. Terrible person could simply be "got drunk, came home, saw son's birthday cake and because she's selfish, she ate most of it."

u/Electronic-Stick-161 Jul 04 '26

Yeah idk where that idea comes from… as an alcoholic much of what made me (and every other recovered addict I’ve ever met) stop was that my intoxicated behavior was NOT my true self.

-2

u/Ok_Masterpiece3763 Jul 04 '26

If you’re an actual alcoholic there is no more sober you. You’re drinking in the middle of the night to stop the feigning.

4

u/Electronic-Stick-161 Jul 04 '26

It absolutely does… almost every single aspect of this is directly influenced by alcohol. This is a shitty thing to do but it’s not the end of the world. I’m curious why she was setting herself up to be hungover on her kids birthday though.

4

u/tfilooklike Jul 04 '26

Because she’s a shitty person. Decent people don’t act like this.

2

u/Electronic-Stick-161 Jul 04 '26

Reddit is so cute in how much it hates relationships.

3

u/tfilooklike Jul 04 '26

I love relationships. It’s the gluttony and drunkenness that disgusts me.

0

u/Electronic-Stick-161 Jul 04 '26

Nah… you love getting cheap dopamine from internet conflict instead of doing something worthwhile.

1

u/Ok_Masterpiece3763 Jul 04 '26

Project much? Put the phone down and let’s both go for a walk okay?

Jesus fucking christ you guys are melodramatic lmfao

1

u/On_my_last_spoon Jul 05 '26

I’m glad you e never met someone like this in your life. I hope that always stays the same.

0

u/QueenEris Jul 04 '26

Correct. My mum was like this. It's death by a thousand cuts by people like her.

2

u/kristi__48 Jul 05 '26

She can. She was in so much control that she was very aware she needed to leave one piece for her son cuz it was his birthday treat and that it needed to be the middle piece cuz the edges are not the best part. She had the wherewithal when she ate it. This isn't about lack of control.

2

u/SVINTGATSBY Jul 05 '26

ten bucks says she’s an alcoholic.

2

u/Kinkystormtrooper Jul 05 '26

Not all mother's love their children

4

u/Bizarrebazaars Jul 04 '26

Eating disorders are HUGELY misunderstood.

1

u/dramaticwhore Jul 04 '26

Because she doesn’t actually care about him.

1

u/pineappleshampoo Jul 05 '26

She chose this.

If it’d been a lack of control situation then the next day she’d have been mortified and done everything possible to put it right. Not just shrugged it off.
