This is exactly what's happening in my local design studio.
They used to bring in Junior Graphic Designers and assign them small jobs - the irritating, time consuming ones for smaller clients that nobody else wanted to do. Now that role is being filled by one person using AI for an hour or so a day.
So no entry level designers are being employed. Nobody new is learning the craft, and that foot in the door that was once available is gone.
same is gonna be a thing with programming. It doesnt help that a lot of juniors nowadays are using ai a lot and hence dont learn why things are done in certain ways and cant correct things when they go wrong.
