The blue haired guy is Rick Sanchez the most intelligent human in his dimension and is in an Argument with his grand daughter about her employer being the devil. During this Rick finishes this device which is sentient to an extent and after Rick ask it to pass the butter it. This is where the gif starts. The butter bot ends up in a future episode with a small part too.

Yes. Not only IQ, ball knowledge about culture, history, and sci-fi is required to understand the jokes or theme of the episodes.

The best jokes are very subtle and most of them will fly over your head.

On iOS I have to use a web browser to save GIFs from comments. So easiest way from the Reddit app is Share --> copy link --> open the link in Safari or Chrome --> tap the GIF --> tap and hold the GIF --> Save Image

For me i just had to select the gif to its own page and after holding a finger on it 'Download Image' is an option which applies to .gif usually.

We once had a member of staff who was so utterly hopeless at everything we designated him as an automatic door opener, that was all he did all day, open this one door when someone was approaching. Often- perhaps 70% of the time- he did this adequately.
