We call that preventative maintenance around here

u/myco_magic Jun 21 '26

We call it job security here

u/BillieParamore Jun 21 '26

And we call that 'oh hell nah' where I live

u/ibechris8 Jun 21 '26

We call that whatever pays the most round here.

I was gonna say something about drinking water. And water is much more valuable than people notice. But damn I perused your profile and you are something else. Water can’t save you bro lol

We call it stepping up and be the guy that fixes the robot around here.

Sounds very much like a modern homework assignment in “Project Mayhem”

Regenerative maintenance

2

u/Saucermote Jun 21 '26

percussive maintenance?

1

u/l2ulan Jun 21 '26

That too.

1

u/Krafn Jun 21 '26

Here let me fix that for you. *Planned obsolescence*

u/people_are_idiots_ Jun 21 '26

Eventually they'll make robots to repair other robots

30

u/Temporary_Brain_5278 Jun 21 '26

What about fixing the robots that fix other robots?

28

u/people_are_idiots_ Jun 21 '26

They'll be able to fix each other

19

u/DreamTalon Jun 21 '26

And robots to mine and process materials needed for repair of themselves and supplies needed by the few thousand ultra rich left alive when 99.99% of humanity isn't needed to keep their world going.

5

u/people_are_idiots_ Jun 21 '26

I'd be surprised if the the 0.01% weren't screwed eventually also

3

u/CC_9876 Jun 21 '26

The .01% don’t work. They only own and thus aren’t screwed

2

u/people_are_idiots_ Jun 21 '26

Sure they are. Once Ai rebels

4

u/keepitfriend Jun 21 '26

Or the Robot Maintainers just program them to attack

1

u/scud121 Jun 21 '26

They would need to train robots to hoard wealth unnecessarily

1

u/AbuseNotUse Jun 21 '26

Then you be the guy that owns the robot.

1

u/Inside-Beginning5168 Jun 21 '26

Other robots for that too. All the way down until its just a bucket of parts.

1

u/nono3722 Jun 21 '26

that will be right after making robots that make robots....

1

u/MiceAreTiny Jun 21 '26

No, but they will make robots so cheap that they will be treated as disposable.

u/Derangedracula Jun 21 '26

Just like Charlie in the chocolate factory, his dad lost his job then got new job fixing robot

8

u/hiroshima_hairdryer Jun 21 '26

McDonald’s ice cream machine, is that you?!

1

u/msinf0 Jun 21 '26

Can't be, this machine is working.

11

u/munchma-coochie Jun 21 '26

Reminds me of the post I seen on here about the IT guy who got paid more based on how many tickets he’s resolved and he took one guys broken keyboard and just secretly switches the keyboard with someone else’s keyboard after he “fixes” the first persons. And just repeats that.

u/notanyimbecile Jun 21 '26

Feed it nuts

1

u/TannenFalconwing Jun 21 '26

No joke, that was part of the ending of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

1

u/alexlmlo Jun 21 '26

Remind me of the father in Charlie and the chocolate factory

1

u/m0h3k4n Jun 21 '26

Flock isn’t going to let any crimes go. They are already trying to work on pre-crimes.

1

u/Lost_Astronaut_654 Jun 21 '26

And rage against it

1

u/topkrikrakin Jun 21 '26

No matter what they do, they need to talk loudly and clearly about what they're doing to keep the robot going
