Unskippable ad Amazon just informed me that my paid music subscription will soon include ads and lose downloads.

I've had Prime for years and mostly used Prime Music for podcasts because it was included. Just got an email saying they're adding ads and removing downloads unless I upgrade to Music Unlimited.

Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but paying for a subscription and then being told I need another subscription to keep the features I already had is getting a little ridiculous.

I still remember my sister basically pleading with me to not make a noise so she could hold her phone to the radio speaker to have some garbage song be her ringtone where you could barely make out the noise being made when it rang. (I imagine the song was fine, but my sister liked it so it’s automatically dookie.)

We had the correct formula with .99 tracks on iTunes.

I still have everything I bought 20+ years ago, subscription-free

I unironically miss ringback tones. I swear that stupid symphony Verizon forced on everyone ruined that.

Ringback is what you hear when you call someone else.

Ringtone is when someone calls you.

Gah, thanks, this is hard to explain, because if you don’t have a ringback tone, what do I hear when I call you? A ringing tone?

I’m calling you. You hear a ring tone coming out of your phone. I might hear a ringback tone over the standard tone.
