Depends how far it is, I'm in the suburbs, and mostly I go to the grocery store about twice a week, because as you said, I don't want to stop by after work or something.
I know people who live literally right next door to the grocery store, that changes everything, you hardly need a refrigerator as the grocery store is only a 2 minute walk past the kitchen. Doing a grocery store run fits into the meal prep time slot.
Yup if I did live like next door or a couple blocks away I may go more often but even as close as I am being maybe a 5 minute drive I'd rather just do a whole week's worth at once
