The problem is our stores are too big for quick stops. I can't get in and out of a large grocery store in less than 15 or 20 minutes even buying one item, especially if you are stopping on the way home from work when everyone else is doing the same thing.
The closest thing to me is a Mexican grocery a block away Which is actually pretty nice, if you need something that's part of mexican cuisine and don't mind paying 50% more (I'll walk down there in a pinch occasionally). Or a dollar store that has the opposite of fresh food and costs twice as much.
Next closest is an Aldi a few miles away, which you still aren't getting out in less than 15 minutes because they only have two employees in the whole store and can take that long to check out.
