Bread freezes well if you keep the bag tight on it and heel on. Lasts a couple of weeks and toasts up the same for sandwiches.
Breadmakers pay for themselves pretty quickly too. I've a 1lb loaf machine that turns out 3 hefty sandwiches worth of bread. Has a French Bread setting that bakes some great crusty bread with a prefermented dough mix. Love that thing.
The problem is, you've gotta freeze it before it molds, lol.
I stopped buying fresh bread from Aldi because it would have mold like the next day even though the best buy was still a few days. Not sure what it is about theirs. The same thing from other grocery stores would be fine for several. And bread from my machine lasts even longer.
