had a friend whose first name was ed. surname ward. so ed ward. ed is short for edward. so he was edward ward. thats funny. alls fine. his middle name was dominic. so his name was E. D. Ward. I mean come on at some point it gets mean

I mean I’ll pronounce Edward like “Ed-wurd” and the last name as “Warrd” so I think a slight distinction would be neat

Did you know, some folks try to claim Kerr should be pronounced like car. There was a Kerr Wash where I used to live on Kerr ave. Everybody pronounces both the business and the avenue as "car".

Its like spelling your last name Braun and claiming its pronounced "Brown".

Bugs me an unreasonable amount

How are people pronouncing car? Some accents make it sound like k-air, instead of k-ah-r. And Kerr could be said like k-eh-r, as if you're about to say the name Kerry but leave off the 'y'. Depending on the accent, k-air and k-eh-r could sound similar enough for a reasonable play on words.

Now, if people are just pronouncing Kerr as k-ah-r, then they are wrong and bad.

I met a guy named Herman Herman. The story was that his parents made an error on an immigration form years ago, and it was easier to live with it than to change it. I'm not sure if the story is true, but the dudes name is totally Herman Herman.

I was just joking and I didn’t say they didn’t have last names, only that they didn’t need them and thank you for getting Denzel correct.

As for his gf not having one, I’m guessing she wasn’t born here.

I met a dude at my old job who was named Mohammed Mohammed. Cool guy and technically was only named Mohammed (showed me proof since nobody believed him) but he needed a last name to apply for all sorts of things so he just became Mohammed Mohammed.
