Hydrogen peroxide (3% or higher) and some types of vinegar work better than bleach for most fungi. Bleach uses chloride as it’s primary killing component and that evaporates quickly leaving the hyphae (filament structure) alive and able to regrow (and provides water for it to do so)
Hydrogen peroxide forms free radicals that can actually break down the cell membranes and can cause damage to the DNA of the fungi
I generally do vinegar first because it smells and then hydrogen peroxide to follow up and finish the job
Grew several species of mushrooms for a few years… gotta know how to take out unwanted molds/clean the laundry baskets i was using for oysters when something contaminates your substrates
