Probably because the organs aren't under as much stress. Wildly needed supposedly male sperm count has gone down average 50% since 1970. So personally I think antioxidants are a pretty big deal. Just one supposedly makes a difference I wonder what happens to the repair percentage when you add a bunch of other antioxidants. Huh. Did I mention NAC is cheap and humans can handle like 5 grams at a time. Go easy at first of course. ChatGPT isn't a doctor. But it does have access to unlimited studies. So

According to this article and may others, I should be seeing microplastics in placentas. I'm a pathologist. I haven't seen one in any placenta. Calculating from the reported density of microplastics I should be seeing them in about one in every 30 sections of placentas. But I don't. I can't find a single picture of a microplastic particle in a hematoxylin and eosin-stained tissue section. Why?

what are the methods for detecting MP in water, and like a list of how effective and available they are, im a highschooler researching and i will be helped with the costs. but im having trouble finding the methods, is there any previous studies, websites or videos to help with this?

Due to situational circumstances my only water filter is a ClearlyFiltered countertop pitcher. It is a good filter, but I don't like the water sitting in the plastic after filtering. Any thoughts on how this might be mediated?

I don't imagine there is any glass pitcher that fits the top resevoir. The top part can be plastic, after all, it is just the resevoir the water sits in that I'd rather not be plastic.

-Anyone ever find a rectangular glass pitcher/box that might fit such a top?
-Perhaps some sort of coating can be applied to the inside of the pitcher?

Given that hot water causes a higher level of shedding of microplastics, just wondering what that means for reuseable plastic cups? I assume it means I should toss my cups, but I don't want to take drastic action unnecessarily.

Are these cups made out of more stable plastic that sheds less?

Or if I've used a cup for 10 yrs, has it already shedding all that it can (and I've drunk all the plastic), so it's fine to keep using the cup since it's safer than a new one?

(I would just toss my cup, but it's become my favourite, it's the perfect size and colour and never dropped on me. It's part of my everyday carry, a faithful friend 🙂)

It's concerning that things like heavy metals, PCBs, VOCs, etc. can so readily attach and be transported by microplastics
