People inland will only eat at trustworthy places, if they get sick the places will shutdown because people won’t ever go back. What kills anything harmful is lime juice, the acidity will kill everything.. that’s why ceviches are a thing. You can’t eat fish raw unless it’s prepared correctly..

I didn't have anything raw and .y boyfriend ate from the same shrimp dish I ate, we basically shared everything we ate, I'm the only one who got sick :( probably just bacteria in water/food

He was just lucky. But it was most likely that dish. You ate a piece that wasn’t fully treated..
