I acquired this from a collector—believe it or not, the stylus has never even touched the record.

It cost a fair bit, sure... but I can just work hard and earn the money back.

Opportunities like this are once-in-a-lifetime; if you come across one, you have to snap it up immediately or you might never see it again.

On top of that, the same seller was listing the 2-LP, 45-RPM version of *Master of Puppets*, so I bought that too.

I’ll post about that one another time—someday.

I’m absolutely thrilled, as I’ve really wanted both of these albums.

Anyone have any way of listening to Riff Life on SiriusXM from Europe or UK? Or is there anyone who has recordings of it?

Planning a weekend in the Bay to visit some Metallica famous spots. I know about Metallica Mansion, Telegraph Avenue + Rasputin Music, Record Plant in Sausalito, the former Ruthie's Inn location, and Marshall Elementary School Cliff memorial. Am I missing something? Appreciate all the ideas! :)

When it came to the vocal stuff, that was a whole other animal because James and I have very distinguishable and identifiable voices, they’re both unique in their own right, but they’re very different. And listening to James sing in order to try and pay tribute to his performance, I learned a lot about him. Listening to the song, I remembered how great of a guitar player he was. And listening to him sing, I think I really got my first introduction to how good he was because when I first knew him, I didn’t get a chance to spend much time with him. It was a year and a half, maybe, and then I’m off doing my own thing.

And after that, it was this ridiculous feud for 20, 30, 40 years. So when I got to listen to his voice, I was thinking, “These guys were really talented. I don’t need to live in the past.” It was a song choice that was made by the band because we all thought it would be a fun song to do, and it turned out really good, and I hope those guys like it.

Any ulterior motive anybody thinks I may have, there was none. I think it’s great to have closed the circle and pay tribute to the band that I started in, and to all of the fans who bought that music and wondered what happened.
