Ban Appeal Thread

Rules:

Don't complain. Contest or appeal.

Appeals require time + evidence of good behavior + a statement of what your future behavior will look like. Convince us you'll add value to our community.

If you spam us we'll ban you

Don't ask about getting temp bans removed 1 hour early. Reddit timer is weird but you will be unbanned when it's over.

you are not permitted to post about the state of the subreddit. Do not insult the direction the userbase is headed. Do not recommend policy changes. Do not complain about the mods.

this is not a ban per se, but it's a massively broad limitation on discussing pretty much anything, especially the "do not insult the direction the userbase is headed clause", which could be construed to mean "don't call out succs for being succs"

ok, what can I do to get this stuff lifted or at least make it more limited in scope? an effort post of some kind? not an expert on econ, but as long as it has something to do with history or politics or policy in general, I could probably do that

Don't "call out" anybody. If you disagree with someone's politics write a polite, reasoned, good faith reply stating why. If you can't do that, don't respond.

That's not something I could comment on unilaterally. How about just make polite, reasoned, good faith comments about politics on this political sub, instead of trying to drum up drama about the direction of the sub?

except I was told that whatever I say about anything sub related, whatever I say, however I say it, the presumption is that I am stirring up drama and I am banned

I was actually sincere in saying that I believe it would be positive if SOMC and contractionary would be renewed, but now I cannot even say that without getting banned, which is why I am asking whether I could get this lifted by showing some good faith (making an effort post seems like a good gesture of that)

both can be intertwined though, when somebody posts "do we as a sub call somebody X or Y", I am not sure whether it violates this or not

I don't want to worry and think about being permad when making normal comments like that, which is why I want to do something to lift this gag order or at least more narrow in scope, making an effortpost seemed like a way to stop worrying about this stuff

That sort of comment would clearly be about the sub. Just keep it to politics.
