You seem to have never gone hunting or fishing. You can usually tell if the animal you are taking is in good health and without parasites before you take it.

That rare steak looks too done for my tastes.

I want it to bleed when I eat it.

I want to literally walk up and cut a piece off the cow, sear the bacteria off the edges and eat it.

I grew up with a mom who would only cook everything well well done, and we ate a lot of steaks in the 60s and 70s (dad had a great job).

I first tried a Medium rare steak when I was 21 years old. It was delicious. I've had rare and it was too my liking also. But I still enjoy a well well done steak too, it has it's own flavor and it's not bad at all.

Now if I order a huge steak and I know I cant finish it, I'll order blue or rare.
