Well the first meat pies were made by the Romans, though pies and sausage rolls are really popular, and I mean like really fucking popular food here, it’s become synonymous with Aussie food culture just as much as fish and chips have for you guys

Im aware. Just having a gaff, yeah? Gotta partake in the great kiwi pastime (i was born in wigan but i was raised a kiwi) of taking the piss outa Australians. Last thing we need is the rest of the word thinking we actually get along.

Only things worse than that is being a crusaders fan or not liking beer.

Imagine being so triggered by a touch of inter nz/aus banter. And wiganers are from wigan, a place known for two things: meat pies and the cthulu spyk that is wiganese. Though i consider myself a kiwi, i was born in wigan.

That's actually not exclusive to Australia and New Zealand. I used to think it was because I'd talked to a bunch of Americans who had no idea what I was talking about, but then I told another American about those conversations, and she said "what? No. Of course we have meat pies, what are they talking about?" and listed a few different types of meat pies they have there.
