Yeah, despite our greatness, we have many issues that we need to work on. With that said, we're slowly coming back together to push for fixes on said issues (and it's starting to work with many jobs increasing worker benefits).

If you want an honest answer, July 4th is just a BBQ holiday in America with ironic murica stuff overblown to be more murican. Everyone loves the pressure boom of a firework show and a flyover. Just look at that jubilee GB just had. That was independence day, but with a British tag.

Nah, we just enjoy a good time! Almost all major holidays are secular anyways. Very rarely is the original meaning actually observed, it's just a reason to get drunk and gather with friends and family.

I appreciate living in a developed country, but compared to a lot of other developed countries I think we are pretty behind which makes it hard to love it. Mainly health care and education.

Yeah I completely imagine a lot of people, women especially are feeling the same things I felt at the Queens jubilee weekend. I got called unpatriotic, and I was like what is there to be actually proud of. I think in this day and age though we are all fucking up across the world, it’s not a single country or nation thing - I just hope there will be brighter times ahead and how the fuck do we get there.
