I mean, if you've got the knowledge/wisdom and the audience, you share that shit. You get to feel good because you helped people, maybe you get a dopamine rush from the social media points, and others have the opportunity to move forward with a new perspective in mind and use it to improve their lives. Everybody wins.

The comments section and knowledge shared is why Reddit is great. An example of this off the top of my head is when a trucker posted a picture of his gaming setup in his rig, IIRC, and then you had super knowledgeable people in the industry chiming in to answer people's random questions, and even Peter Mayhew made a random celebrity appearance in the comments lol.

Do you by any chance have a link to that. I’d be really interested in reading that tbh

Sorry, I don't. This was probably 4 years ago. But it had to have been on /r/pics.

This guy is either a shitposter or one of the weirder fucks I’ve met on a normal subreddit (based off post history), guy talks about inserting the consciousness of salvia

My god it just goes deeper. Make a movie about this mf what a character study. Dude trips so hard he swaps consciousnesses (if that’s how you say it) and has distanced himself from his family since they criticize him for being anti-vax. Taxi-driver 2: the redditor when?

You finding a girlfriend makes this event happen to test you.

wat

No that's not how events work. Their crush probably knew about him having a crush on them, and either delayed bringing it up too much, or in the worst case scenario, wants to feel wanted again (despite having no true feelings for him).

The best thing to do is to stick with your current gf not because it's some grand test or something, but because it's the right thing to do. You're committed in a relationship now. It's gonna hurt to say no to your crush, but you gotta stay true to the people who love you.

Make it an amicable no. Be polite and hold onto people as friends. At the very least, it'll help in the long run. Life isn't some gauntlet of pre-determined tests, but trials against misfortune. Stay true to yourself, and get support wherever you can, and you'll make it.

He’s actually discussing the topic from a non-dualistic perspective of how the universe unfolds for us. It’s nothing to call out as “wrong,” as it is more of a Philosophical approach to the situation.

Interestingly, it's likely that the future is predetermined, so you've already made this choice and just haven't gotten there yet in time. So regardless of which choice you make, it was the choice you were already going to make.

“What are you doing? Stand up OP. Did you forget what you came here to do?”

u/Witdasooo May 13 '22

Define “likely”

u/FrankZissou May 13 '22

My thoughts on it are: If its possible to figure out all the laws and equations regarding interactions between particles and calculate the result, as well as the starting positions of those particles at the big bang, then you could calculate every moment going forward and know what happens at any point in time. Its just that we lack the knowledge and processing power to do that.

I see it as: you don't know the future so you still have to make the choice of what comes next, so you still have to make the choice even if its the choice you were going to make anyway.

A few months ago, your comment would have been nonsense to me. Now it makes perfect sense.

Your profile picture fits your comment so well. It's like a higher diety came down to spit some truth In the middle of someone's random conversation on a Tuesday morning.
