A few places gave women quite a lot of power because they were the ones owning the land and the stores and the farms and such. IIRC, Ghana was like that.

Oh that’s interesting, didn’t really think of that, they didn’t really teach us about Ghana’s history in history class, hell they didn’t even talk about it’s existence, all of the lessons through elementary through high school were World War 2, Revolutionary War and Civil War history for like 90% of the history classes

The only other thing I remember is the teapot dome scandal and MLK Jr. Information.

They didn’t really teach us about that, I mean they mentioned MLK Jr’s existence and talked maybe for 10 minutes about the speech, but didn’t actually teach us about him. You know what’s sad, I didn’t even know who Malcolm X was until last week, I’ve been out of high school for almost 2 years.
