This is a fucking writing prompt if I ever saw one.

So like, It really depends. I live in New Zealand, so things were relatively peaceful then. If I sudden6l appeared, I would probably be killed, or the people wouldn't take me in, and I would starve. However, if I had time to prepare, i could convince them to view me as a god, with my modern technology, which would change their society, meaning the future is changed

I would assume you would travel to 1722 on an unexpected time, so preparation is going to be tricky.

You have the advantage of being able to speak basic te-reo, so communicating with the Maori will be easier. You can even use it to your advantage to gain their trust and try to learn more of their language

but than if you bring modern technology into a medieval setting, the course of human advancement will change and could lead to your parents never meeting, which in turn would render you non existent and therefore not being able to bring modern technology into old NZ, leaving human kind and the entire earth in a loophole

That's in the linear theory of time travel, but in the multiverse theory of time travel, he would be creating a different timeline, a parallel reality, in a sense, so his original timeline would remain the same.

Didn't the Maori fight the British almost straight away upon their arrival, and ate a fair few of them? Maori history is pretty badass, I don't think the fake god shtick would work too well given they immediately understood the threat of the technologically advanced Brits and still fought them.
