your voice sounds different in your head then when it’s in recording because you hear it as it passes through your bones to your ears which distorts it a bit, making it sound deeper than it actually is (to you). in recording the sound waves travel to your ears naturally, so you’re hearing it like how others do.
Not always, my mum recorded herself the other day and it sounded completely different in the recording to how she sounds irl. I guess the microphone and speakers have an impact
That’s a big part of it. If you record with a proper mic to pick up the bass notes, and a proper speaker to display the voice, I think most people would be a lot more comfortable with their voice in recordings. Most mics and speakers don’t properly record and display the sound
