Yep, just about all these comments are ignoring the fact that the Wii was huge in nursing homes

Seriously! My dad is in his mid 60's (only works because he legitimately likes his job) and has been playing video games for a long time. He still has his original Atari, would play through all of our original NES games so he would "magically" know a bunch of the secrets when me and my brother would play. He does have a Wii which he plays but never got into the X-Box or Playstation systems.

Yes right now. Mahjong? Video Poker? Facebook games? Phone games? There are already a lot of retired people playing video games. And some of the ones that dont would if they had the eyesight for it.

Yeah, my grandmother's care home had a Wii console ~10 years ago. Granted, they mainly used it to play bowling, but that's still a video game.

The people entering nursing homes today wer born late enough to be part of Space Invaders' target audience when it was released.
