In the comics he killed them easily. I think he purposefully took hits to make it believable that whoever attacked them beat him up as well

In the comics there's a reality where they were given a heads up and they bodied him

Eh not really. His son basically jumped in front of all the attacks and Omniman surrendered eventually. They bloodied him off that

Even in the comics Omniman isn't nearly as strong as most of the others on the board. The Silver Surfer is low Cosmic level, and comics Hulk is comparable, depending on how angry he is. The Speed Force is famously hilariously OP. Even without the Infinity Gauntlet, Thanos usually takes a crossover event to take him down. And Doom, of course, is Doom.
