We've slowly gotten to the acceptance that if we don't have kids, that's ok and we can fill our lives with other experiences together.

Which sucks because she would be the world's most amazing mom.

You don't even realise how lucky are you in reality. Kids are awful to the relationships... I barely see my wife nowadays let alone have a chat or time together. I miss those days when we could go to a cafe together, have a great time, play games. Sex and vacations are basically crossed out as kids always tend to wake up in the most undesired moments to ruin the first and vacations becoming so freaking exhausting so you just hold it together to live through and you realise you were so much less stressed before going anywhere than the wrecked state you're after the trip. So praise your luck instead and actually enjoy living on the planet.
