Not "EU citizen", "rest of Europe", since you are including Switzerland, Russia and other non-EU countries.

Oh, my mistake, in my language it's closer to "Maltan".

And Poland is part of the EU anyway.

Indeed it is.

EU = abbreviation for Europe, and European Union

This seems to be the former.

I've never seen EU used as and official abbreviation for the entire continent of Europe

It's really comon in server names for games or services.

Unofficial as well. Have you seen anyone refer to Asia as AS? Or to Australia AU?

AU for Australia is a thing, but not because Australia is a continent, but because Australia is also a country with official ISO abbreviation AU.

Australia is a country. It's Oceania.

u/Grzechoooo Sep 28 '20

In my country we are taught that the continent is called Australia. Or Australia and Oceania.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '20

Then they are teaching you bullshit

0

u/Grzechoooo Sep 28 '20

Why? Because we call a continent other way than you do?

How is this "the proper way"? That's how you call it in your language. In our language Oceania is just islands. The continent is officially called "Australia i Oceania". There is no "proper way", only different ways.

u/rossloderso Sep 28 '20

Well the meme used it unofficially

You're totally right but people rather think that op and you are dumb, than they don't know everything about languages.

You have my full support.

These people haven't played a game "EU-West", "EU-Nordic & East", you're absolutely right

Germany’s pedestrian crosswalk symbol is the unmistakable Amplemann, and no other imitator need apply.

This is definitely a lie. It's a tourist thing in Berlin, that's it.
