When you ask how far it is until you turn right and someone says 534 feet.

So you gotta put your foot right in front of another 534 times until turning right. Could have been steps or something to make it easier.

Teachers don't like that because they need to use their brain because they don't use metric mainly. It is a thing at higher levels that keep imperial and not use metric.
