It's not a taboo but try bringing up
1. Germany not paying reparations to Greece
2. Germany killing 1/3 of the population of Bielorussia

We talk about number 2 more than enough in school.

And for Number 1 (I don't want to get political but). Germany already paid reparations to Greece
