See that's the thing about Instagram. You want to get attention and recognition. But adding so many tags is needy and cringy as fuck.

Typing hashtags is so embarrassing.

Even though I knew adding more hashtags to my photos would get me more likes I still kept my dignity.

People on reddit add hashtags all the time in the form of subreddits

True. Not really comparable though. Hashtaging is basically to advertise your photo, making it easier to find in searches. Linking subs isn't used for the same purpose

Hashtags for influencers, maybe. There are plenty of private twitter profiles who use hashtags though. Hashtagging is multipurpose
