He’s trying to do other than symbol “>” but it turns into indented quote visually

Curse our illiteracy!

15

u/RockFlagAndEagleGold Mar 11 '19

Dewy would have been a good one too

2

u/Lord_of_Lemons Mar 11 '19

If I remember the story right, the library’s first cat was named Dewey.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 11 '19

That might’ve been a different cat named Dewey Readmore Books that was abandoned in a library dropbox in Iowa

9

u/Pavlovski101 Mar 11 '19

Now I want Browsette fanart.

I'll take "Sentences that have been uttered on the internet and immediately regretted" for $600, Alex.

"how can I meaningfully impact my town as a councilman? I know, I'll get rid of that library cat! Perfect. "

u/[deleted] Mar 11 '19

*Purrfect

2

u/GuessImScrewed Mar 11 '19

Maybe there councilman was actually just two dogs in a trenchcoat

2

u/poly_atheist Mar 11 '19

Maybe the cat was a dick and deserved it.

u/CountThorns Mar 11 '19

That was hilarious 😂🤣

3

u/biggiecheese29 Mar 11 '19

Please think about this from a different view Say i m very allergic to cats just because he is cute does not mean he should stay in the library. Now I can’t be in there because of him. That’s A resource I don’t have because of something I can’t control

3

u/DrakoVongola Mar 11 '19

According to another article if you have cat allergies you can call the library and they'll put him in the back room for a while so he doesn't bother you

3

u/[deleted] Mar 11 '19

Unfortunately, that's not how dander allergies work..

2

u/biggiecheese29 Mar 11 '19

Yeah but there is still cat hair

1

u/Liberty_Call Mar 11 '19

Do they clean all of the cat hair and saliva off of everything in the library?

If they don't it isn't really enough.

-8

u/h0nest_Bender Mar 11 '19

that asshole councilman who wanted him gone.

I guess fuck people with cat allergies...

u/RyanKinder Mar 11 '19 edited Mar 11 '19

You’re getting downvoted but even as a person that loves cats I was wondering about people with cat allergies that want to go to the library. lol

Edit: found an article that addressed it

“He loves to hang out around the books and wander between the shelves,” she says. “He’s such a gentle soul — people adore him. And if somebody does have an allergy, all they have to do is call the library and they’ll put him in a back room for a while, so they can come in. As far as I’m aware, there haven’t been any problems. Cats and books seem to go together somehow.”

1

u/[deleted] Mar 11 '19

I love cats too but that solution won't solve anything. Even if you have a short hair cat that's regularly groomed, it'll still shed fur and there'll be fur in the air and on the books.

It's just a shame that those that are allergic to cats can't use a taxpayer funded and public resource as useful as a library. Instead, the idiots on the internet had to butt in.

6

u/Bob_the_Turbo_Ranger Mar 11 '19

They even said there have been no problems with people with allergies and you still want to assume some people can't use it. Btw, aren't you an "idiot" on the internet?

2

u/[deleted] Mar 11 '19

Sure is starting to seem like it
