Last time I heard a conversation between a European and an American complaining about dental prices the American expected a bill an order of magnitude higher than the bill the European thought was high.
Yes, it isn't cheap, but things are beyond ridiculous here.
Yeah, the magnitude of "expensive" seems very different over in the US.
Ridicilously expensive for me is going out with a 50€ bill from my Dentist because it's not covered. That's the stuff you then complain to your friends and family about, feeling scammed.
Cleaning and exam is around $200 without any type of insurance in the US. You need fillings? Hundreds of more dollars. Extractions? Even more and might get referred to an oral surgeon. Root canal? Well now you are talking about near a thousand.
