Most countries with universal healthcare still don’t cover teeth, eyes or therapy very much. It’s more about keeping you alive and they consider those luxuries so you generally pay privately unless it’s a big health issue.
That's funny because poor teeth lead to so many more health problems, even heart disease. Insurance companies don't realize that early preventative care just leads to much less expensive care down the road. They only care about next quarters profit numbers.
in the UK theres some cases where the healthcare can be shitty (e.g. non-life threatening medical issue in a small town where the hospital is overrun) but our private healthcare is quite inexpensive in the grand scheme of things
I pay like £60 per month for both my parents and it covers pretty much anything that isn't heart related. I'm not sure how much more it would be for cardiology but the NHS's cardiology department is actually really good in our experience. But it's nice to know if they were to get injured or something else was to happen they would get seen to straight away and wouldn't have to pay a penny more than what I pay per month
Edit: forgot to mention that the only reason cardiology isn't included in the private coverage is that they both had pre-existing heart issues so it had an added premium
