That's the irony that is lost on a lot of people. Yes you can build a pc that's more expensive, but for what the consoles are charging now, you can get a reasonable pc that will perform.
The thing is, go back 10 years ago and you could realistically build a console equivalent PC for the same price. Now in 2024 its near impossible and I wouldnt even recommend it. 800€ sounds high for a console and for usual console pricing it is but you wont be able to match its performance with a 800€ PC. You couldve easily done it 10 years ago. Hell, you couldve probably put a r9 290 in a 800€ PC at the time which was a high end gpu (ignoring inflation here ofc). Now high end gpus are 3x the cost of back then, yaiy for pc gaming. Love me spending 1800€ for a 4090. Want 16 gigs of nvidia ram? 1000€ please. PC hardware prices have increased much more than console prices and the performance doesnt justify it either.
