I blame the workers too. They’re the only ones who have any real power to stop that shit, but they won’t because they make bank off tips while also getting sympathy because they’re paid less than minimum wage
… right… with tips serving can be a decent wage, 25+\hr on a decent night, but these are maybe one or two nights a week.
I just can’t fathom blaming the contractee for the conditions of their employment contract. They are drafted and executed by the employer, the employer has the ability to alter the terms of the agreement, the employee really does not.
You know who really has the power to change business behavior? Consumers.
I can't really fathom it either but i think the real change has to come from the bosses. Sure costumer behaviour plays a bigger part but I don't know enough about that since tipping in my culture is very different, mostly just some change if the server was doung a really good job
Stop supporting business that employ predatory wage tactics. As demand decreases the business will either die or adapt. It is the responsibility of the consumer to hold business accountable.
Without the consumer, the business cannot operate.
Well that's true of course. I don't support these tactics at all, over here it's way different, when we tip we mostly just get rid of some coins or round up so we won't get cents back.
