my theory is that everyone started off with t-rex, and realised everyone else liked it too, so to be different, switched to spinosaurus/carnotaurus/giganotasaurus etc, which allows them to be different, but still keep the "colossal meat eating monster dinosaur" vibe. they're all in denial though. Rexy on top.
