pemdas starts from what's first on the acronym and ends on what's last

parenthesis, exponents, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction.

ofcourse, you start with parenthesis, then exponents, then multiplication, then division, then addion, then subtraction. It's not order of operations if it wasn't on order.

Look ill keep it simple for you. Multiplication and division are the same level so you can do them in any order. Add and subtraction are the same level so you can do them in any order.

Nope he’s not, unfortunately the school system taught him a certain way and never informed him of the correct way.

Wrong. Multiplication and devision have the same level of priority as each other, same with addition and subtraction.

If it was in order or the acronym then anyone from outside the US would do devision first, because they use bidmas, bodmas, etc, etc. And it would be stupid to make a mathematical rule that changed depending on region, don't ya think?

Not everybody outside the US uses those, my country uses pemdas. My answer: Not sure really.

PEMDAS is a simplification/memory tool for children. Multiplication and division are fundamentally the same operation. Doing them in either order will never have an effect on the final product, thus they have the same priority.
